About the Position:

We are looking for a seasoned Advisor to join the Sales & Marketing team in Electronics reporting directly to the Japan Maketing General Manager.
 

This position is based at our office in Atsugi in Kanagawa.
 

As the Advisor at Marelli, you will be responsible to support strategic growth in Business Development and Key Account Management across its customer base. This role requires a high-caliber professional who can act as a strategic partner to senior stakeholders and customer teams, guiding commercial strategy, advising internal teams, and strengthening Marelli’s position with key OEMs and Tier 1 partners.

Your Responsibilities will be:

Business Development:

  • Provide senior-level advisory on identifying and capturing growth opportunities with OEMs.
  • Support market entry, expansion, and diversification strategies aligned with Marelli’s product portfolio.
  • Advise on customer-specific strategies, helping Marelli anticipate and respond to evolving technical and commercial needs.
  • Collaborate with R&D, product, and strategy teams to develop forward-looking solutions and proposals.

Key Account Management:

  • Coach and mentor account managers on strategic account planning, customer engagement, and performance tracking.
  • Support Marelli in strengthening relationships with key customers by acting as a senior representative or liaison when needed.
  • Provide guidance during major customer negotiations, RFQ/RFI responses, and strategic reviews.
  • Drive alignment across account teams, ensure delivery of consistent, high-value customer experience.

What Qualifications you will bring:

  • 10+ years of experience in business development, strategic sales, or account leadership roles in the automotive industry, preferably with Tier 1 supplier or OEM experience.
  • Strong understanding of automotive product lifecycles, procurement processes, and OEM decision-making structures.
  • Demonstrated experience engaging with OEMs (e.g. Nissan, Mitsubishi ~).
  • Proven ability to advise and influence at executive levels both internally and externally.
