About the Position:

 

We are looking for a Senior Test Engineer to join the Research and Development team, reporting directly to the Section Leader/Manager- CPM & Interior Development Group. 
 

This position is based at our office in UK - Marelli Automotive Systems Europe Technology Centre Millbrook Office. 
 

As the Senior Test Engineer at Marelli, you will plan, control and successfully execute Interior test programs. 

Your Responsibilities will be:

  • To work in accordance with company procedures, work and operating instructions, which comply with the requirements of IATF 16949.
  • Review & analyse customer test specifications
  • Define validation requirements with Design group
  • Create & control project test plans for each phase of development projects
  • Complete root cause analysis for any failures with countermeasure direction
  • Complete & submit project test reports for each phase of the application development projects according to project milestones
  • Prepare & present necessary documents required for Design Reviews
  • Single point contact for all Interior testing to Internal & External stakeholders
  • Submission of test plan and test reports to achieve customer milestones
  • Plan & execute Benchmark test activity for continuous improvement
  • Execute PDCA cycle & propose efficiency improvements
  • Produce reports for Management review
  • Comply with Health, Safety, and Environmental systems requirements.

What Qualifications you will bring:

  • Minimum HND in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline
  • Minimum 6 yrs of testing experience within automotive industry

Other skills that we would welcome:

  • Demonstrate experience of Automotive Performance testing preferably with Interior components
  • Good understanding of Automotive performance requirements including legal, safety requirements
  • Project management - project management to meet Q,C,D milestone(s)
  • Ability to Lead test reviews with Customer & Cross-function/Regional teams
  • To be able to plan, lead and execute activities for themselves and team members to achieve functional objectives
  • Ability to set and review objectives for team members and provide coaching where necessary
  • Ability to analyse & solve problems using engineering tools & techniques
  • Flexibility and the ability to work on a variety of tasks.
  • Strong self-learning attitude is desired
  • Excellent communication skills with both internal and external customers
  • Good PC Soft skills such as MC excel, Word, Power Point
  • Possess a continuous improvement attitude
