About the Position:
We are looking for a Human Resources Generalist who will join the HR team at Marelli North America, reporting directly to the HR Manager. This position is located at our office in Canton, Mississippi. The HR Generalist plays a critical role in maintaining stable employee relations and ensuring a safe and supportive work environment through various HR functions and initiatives.
As a Human Resources Generalist, your responsibilities will be:
- Participate in managing conflicts, resolving concerns, and conducting detailed investigations, including leading performance management and corrective actions/termination processes.
- Plan, organize, and lead all TMR activities for the assigned plant/area, including employee morale and recognition events, as well as community relations activities like March of Dimes and Relay for Life.
- Assist with HR policy development and administration, including enforcing, educating, and interpreting to ensure fair and consistent treatment across team members, shifts, and plants.
- Coordinate manpower requirements, overseeing internal and external hiring for full-time and temporary positions.
- Maintain employee files, records, and correspondence to comply with company policies and state and federal regulations.
- Administer, track, and monitor leaves of absence, evaluate and approve FMLA requests, and administer disability benefits. Also, monitor the time and attendance system for team members.
- Carry out general HR functions within assigned sections of manufacturing.
- Coordinate and/or refer specific policy-related problems and inquiries, conduct investigations of employee issues, and provide recommended actions to upper management for final approval.
- Produce requested and monthly reports, including HR KPI tracking and manpower reporting.
- Prepare and conduct workforce training, organize lunch and learn sessions for the area, support quarterly employee meetings, and attend production morning meetings.
- Support plant safety program administration.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What Qualifications you will bring:
- A high school diploma or GED.
- A Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline with 0–2 years of experience in a related field.
- Experience working with integrated computer programs and/or applications.
- Strong communication, administrative, and organizational skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple projects and programs.
- Ability to maintain the confidentiality of information encountered.
Other skills that we would welcome:
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency with applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other presentation tools.
- Additional certifications in HR or related areas.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with labor laws and compliance.
