About the Position:

We are looking for a R&D Electric Motor Senior Designer to join the Motorsport R&D Mechatronic Team, reporting directly to the Motorsport R&D Mechatronic Senior Manager. This position is based at our office in Corbetta (MI) and it’s in scope for Marelli smart working policy (2/3 days of smart working per week).

 

Your Responsibilities will be:

  • Lead the electromagnetic design of high-power-density motor-generator units for motorsport applications.
  • Maintain and improve simulation and optimisation tools.
  • Plan and develop experimental test programmes focusing on the correlation between analytical/FEM electromagnetic models and experimental results.
  • Provide technical information on manufacturing and processing techniques, taking responsibility for the entire electromagnetic circuit manufaring process.

What Qualifications you will bring:

  • Degree in Degree in Electrical Engineering. PhD in Electrical Engineering will be considered as a plus.
  • From 3 to 6 years' experience in the design of high power density electrical machines (IPM and SPM brushless motors preferred).
  • Advanced hands-on experience of FEM software for electromagnetic modelling (ANSYS suite preferred).
  • Advanced experience in scripting using Python for simulation automation.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English and Italian.

Other skills that we would welcome:

  • Knowledge of experimental data analysis (e.g. Matlab, Labview) will be considered as a plus;

Expectations from you in this position:

  • Design and optimise electrical machines based on customer specifications.
  • Prepare and maintain all technical documentation (technical specifications, validation and end-of-line test plans) related to the electromagnetic circuit.
  • Follow all electrical machine testing and validation activities proactively.
  • Manage the introduction of innovative solutions for minimising the weight of electrical machines and enhancing their efficiency.
