About the Position:
We are looking for a Senior Buyer to join the Motorsport Purchasing team, reporting directly to the Motorsport Head of Purchasing. The Senior Buyer will be focused on the management of purchasing activities about electronics componenets and assemblies.
This position is based at our office in Corbetta (MI).
Your Responsibilities will be:
- Execute Motorsport Purchasing strategy dealing with all procurement activities from request for offer to the purchase order, to the arrival of materials at plant acting as interface between internal customers and external suppliers;
- To manage BOM costing and valorization activities according to Sales and R&D requests analyzing and suggesting opportunities for cost reduction;
- To maintain integrity of the master data and purchasing planning parameters to minimize material liability and to balance the costs;
- Own and execute the sourcing strategy for electronic components and assemblies, ensuring continuity of supply, cost competitiveness, and quality compliance
- Lead end-to-end procurement activities: supplier scouting, RFQ/RFP management, negotiation, contracting, and performance monitoring
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, lead times, and supply agreements to optimize Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)
- Manage strategic suppliers and build long-term partnerships, acting as the main commercial interface
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, R&D, Quality, Operations, and Finance to support product development and industrialization
- Monitor market trends, component availability, technological evolution, and supply chain risks (shortages, obsolescence, geopolitical impacts)
- Drive cost reduction initiatives, value engineering, and make-or-buy analysis
- Ensure compliance with internal procurement policies, ESG requirements, and relevant regulations
- Manage supplier performance through KPIs, audits, and corrective action plans
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and inventory optimization for electronic materials
- Contribute to continuous improvement of procurement processes and digital tools
- To keep price list update and prepare ad hoc purchasing weekly (purchase orders) and monthly reports.
What Qualifications you will bring:
- Engineering or Economics Degree;
- Italian very good and English fluent;
- At least 8 years of professional experience in a similar role inside Automotive, Automation, Mechanical Parts or similar industries;
- Cost breakdown for the electronic parts;
- SAP system knowledge (including basic knowledge of MRP and BOM);
- Budgeting process basic knowledge;
- Sufficient knowledge about legal aspects of procurement contract;
- Finance basic;
- Supplier Panel management experience;
