About the Position:
We are looking Electronic Components Engineer to join the Electronic Integration, Propulsion team, reporting directly to the Electronic Units Engineering Manager.
This position is based at our office in Cluj-Napoca.
As the Electronic Components Engineer at Marelli, you will be responsible to select, analyze and introduce new electronic components in automotive Electronic Control Units, in compliance with high demanding automotive standards and targeting best cost solutions aimed at product BOM cost effectiveness.
Your Responsibilities will be:
- Analysis of electronic components datasheets applied to automotive Electronic Control Units (ECU) development.
- Comparison of electronic components characteristics aimed at second-sources introduction and PCN/PTN replacements.
- Definition of qualification methodologies for new suppliers / component families introduction inside product BOMs.
- Execution of PSPICE simulations of ECU components and subfunctions.
- Execution of worst-case analysis of new circuits and sub-functions.
- Creation of detailed test and simulation specifications.
- Electrical debug and verification of Electronic Control Units components and sub-functions.
- Execution of components librarian tasks inside Company database (new part-numbers request, introduction, release, qualification).
What Qualifications you will bring:
- Bachelor / Master in Electronic Engineering.
- General electronics for analog and digital circuits.
- Electronics for driving solenoid valves, DC motors and three phase motors.
- Common architectures of power supplies (e.g. linear, switching).
- Sizing of electronic components based on worst case analysis (temperature, supply voltage, parameters tolerance, etc.).
- Estimation and analysis of electronic components power dissipation.
- Automotive communication protocols (e.g. CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
- Use of electronic laboratory equipment (e.g. oscilloscope, power supply, multimeter).
- Standards and processes in automotive simulation and hardware development – Nice to have.
- Basics of AEC-Q100/200 standard – Nice to have.
- Use of Cadence EDA tools for hardware development – Nice to have.
Other skills that we would welcome:
- Ability to analyze complex issues, identify root causes, and propose effective solutions.
- Presentation skills to convey medium/high complex technical concepts in an understandable manner to stakeholders or future customers.
- Possessing collaboration skills to effectively work inside a product development team.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey ideas, ask questions, and seek clarifications.
- Problem solving and decision-making abilities.
- Good written and spoken English.
