About the Position:

We are looking for a [Cost Competitiveness Manager] who will join [Cost Competitiveness +Interiors] team to manage CEC activities, reporting directly to [Interiors General Manager]; this position is based at our office in [Guangzhou].

Your Responsibilities will be:

1. Strategic level

  • Develop the cost roadmap for Interiors China: Based on market trends, technological evolution and customer demands, formulate a 3-5 year cost competitiveness strategy to support the revenue and profit margin targets in Interiors China.
  • Lead the design-to-cost (DTC) process: Collaborate with R&D and engineering teams to embed cost optimization genes in the new product design stage, ensuring that the solution is both technologically advanced and commercially feasible.
  • Cost model construction: Establish a dynamic cost database and prediction model, covering raw materials, manufacturing costs, logistics, and regional policy variables.

 

2. Customer collaboration and quotation management

  • Customer quotation strategy: Lead the cost calculation for new project tenders to ensure that the quotations are both competitive and have profit margins. Participate in customer negotiations and provide cost data support.
  • VAVE (Value Analysis/Value Engineering) Promotion: Collaborate with customers to identify cost reduction opportunities in existing projects, lead cross-departmental proposals and implement them, with an annualized cost reduction target of ≥5%.
  • Customer cost transparency management: Establish customer-level cost files, regularly analyze the impact of cost fluctuations on project profitability, warn of risks and formulate response plans.

 

3. End-to-end cost control

  • Purchasing cost reduction drive: Lead the purchasing team to set annual cost reduction targets for suppliers, and optimize BOM costs through strategies such as bidding, localization, and technology substitution.
  • Manufacturing efficiency improvement: with operation team identifies waste points in the plant (energy consumption, working hours, yield rate), and promotes lean production and cost reduction through automation.
  • Establishment of cross-functional cost culture: Implement cost awareness training within business units and set up cost optimization incentive mechanisms.
  • Provide benchmark costs for the global cockpit division, with costs 10% lower than those of competing products.

 

By 2025, through material localization and process optimization, achieve a cost reduction of 4OKU for the fiscal year.

The main customer is NISSAN. GAC acquires new business, provides customers with competitive costs, and establishes the best strategic partnership with customers.

 

4. Performance and Output Management

  • KPI monitoring: Based on financial indicators, formulate core indicators for improving cost competitiveness, and develop cost improvement goals and strategies for annual and medium-term plans.
  • Cost benchmarking analysis: Continuously track the cost dynamics of competitors and provide strategic suggestions to maintain market advantages.

What Qualifications you will bring:

- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree or above, majoring in engineering, finance, supply chain management or related fields; MBA/ Master's degree preferred.

 

- Experience requirements:

  • Over 10 years of experience in cost management, purchasing and financial control in the automotive interior industry, and over 5 years of team leadership experience.
  • Proficient in the cost structure and supply chain of automotive cabin interiors.
  • Successfully led large-scale cost reduction projects (with an annual cost reduction amount of ≥5M).

 

- Core Competence:

  • Proficient in cost data analysis.
  • Excellent customer negotiation and communication skills.

 

- Strategic thinking: Capable of transforming cost targets into executable paths.

 

- Language: Fluent in English. Proficiency in Japanese is preferred.
