About the Position:
We are looking for an experienced System Engineering Manager to act as the primary customer front office for all system engineering activities related to Body Control Modules (BCM). This role will be the main technical interface with OEM customers, ensuring requirements are clearly captured, system architecture is aligned, and program execution meets both customer and industry standards. The manager will oversee a team of system engineers, drive technical discussions, and ensure end-to-end BCM system delivery.
Your Responsibilities will be:
- Act as the primary customer-facing representative for BCM system engineering topics.
- Lead customer requirement reviews, technical workshops, and system design discussions with OEMs.
- Translate OEM requirements into system-level specifications, architecture, and feature roadmaps.
- Manage requirements decomposition and allocation across hardware, software, and electrical/electronic subsystems.
- Oversee system validation and verification to ensure compliance with functional, performance, and safety requirements.
- Ensure compliance with ASPICE, ISO 26262 (Functional Safety), and ISO/SAE 21434 (Cybersecurity) standards.
- Drive system integration and issue resolution across cross-functional teams (SW, HW, mechanical, validation).
- Track and report program status, risks, and change requests to both customers and internal leadership.
- Support OEMs in feature prioritization, release planning, and technical negotiations.
- Mentor and manage system engineers, building customer-facing professionalism and delivery excellence within the team.
What Qualifications you will bring:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Electrical, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.
- 10+ years of experience in system engineering for automotive electronics, with significant exposure to Body Control Modules (BCM) or Body Domain Controllers (BDC).
Other skills that we would welcome:
- Proven leadership experience in customer-facing roles for system engineering.
- Strong expertise in requirements management, system architecture, and system integration.
- Hands-on experience with requirements management tools (DOORS, Polarion, Jama).
- Knowledge of automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet).
- Strong understanding of vehicle body functions (lighting, central locking, immobilizer, power management, keyless entry).
- Familiarity with Functional Safety (ISO 26262), ASPICE, and Cybersecurity (ISO/SAE 21434).
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.
Expectations from you in this position:
- Experience with next-generation Body Domain Controllers (BDC) and zonal architecture programs.
- Exposure to Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies.
- Global program experience with Tier-1/OEM customers.
