About the Position:
We are looking for a NPI Engineer to join Manufacturing AL&S team, reporting directly to the Tool Manager.
This position is based at our office in Cd. Juarez Mexico Plant 1.
As the NPI Engineer at Marelli, you will be responsible/support/elevate
Provide the necessary information and tools to maintain controlled and stable processes, ensuring quality and productivity. Guarantee process control and follow up on mold changes in injection molding machines. Manage area resources and coordinate its activities. Define the parameters for injection molding machines, tools, and peripherals to keep processes stable and controlled. Ensure updated documentation, continuous improvement, and successful start-up of new projects.
Your Responsibilities will be:
1. Safety and Order
- Ensure personal and equipment safety through proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Maintain plant safety and ensure implementation of 5S and TPM activities in the area.
2. Productivity and Process Efficiency
- Optimize area productivity by ensuring correct mold setup and start-up.
- Perform model changes efficiently, with control of process variables.
- Promote teamwork among technicians, mold setters, and material handlers to achieve production goals.
- Provide essential supplies and tools for efficient work.
3. New Project Introduction
- Ensure proper start-up of new projects by validating mold trials and developing controlled processes.
- Provide accurate technical information for new project quotations.
4. Continuous Improvement
- Identify and resolve potential problems to minimize downtime and cycle times.
- Develop multidisciplinary teams for effective problem-solving.
- Report issues in the injection engineering area to the coordinator.
5. Team Management
- Manage, train, and evaluate injection personnel, ensuring compliance with programs and standards.
- Promote communication, respect, and collaboration within the team, and address problems as they arise.
6. Document Control
- Maintain and update process and mold change documentation and procedures in coordination with engineering.
7. Regulatory and Management System Compliance
- Promote, ensure, and measure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, MMS, ISO 50001, TISAX, CSR, and CTPAT standards.
- Ensure proper consultation and use of records and documents from various management systems.
- Identify, document, and collaborate in resolving potential non-conformities.
What Qualifications you will bring:
Education Level:
Electronics, Electrical, Maintenance Engineering, or related field.
Language:
Advanced technical English.
Experience:
- 2 years of experience in plastic injection molding processes for the automotive industry.
- 2 years in a similar position.
Experience That Substitutes Education Level:
5 years or more as a technical specialist in injection molding processes.
Additional Knowledge Required at the Time of Hiring (Desirable):
- IATF 16949
- ISO 14001
- ISO 45001
- MMS
- Knowledge in adjustment of 3-axis and 6-axis robot paths

- Lead and manage the introduction and launch of new products, ensuring that all project milestones, quality standards, and customer requirements are met.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to support prototype development, testing, and industrialization.
- Optimize manufacturing processes and ensure timely, cost-effective ramp-up of new products.
- Identify, assess, and resolve technical or process issues during pre-production and start-up phases.
- Maintain effective communication with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and customers to facilitate smooth project execution.
- Ensure full compliance with relevant industry standards and Marelli’s internal procedures.
- Drive continuous improvement, applying lessons learned from previous projects to enhance future launches.
- Keep project documentation up to date and ensure knowledge transfer to production teams.
