About the Position:

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join Marelli North America, reporting directly to the Engineering Manager. This role is instrumental in supporting manufacturing line operations; leading efforts to troubleshoot equipment and tooling; drive continuous process improvement; and ensure successful implementation of new production launches. The Manufacturing Engineer will collaborate with a variety of teams to optimize efficiency, minimize scrap, and uphold product quality. Additionally, this role includes designing and developing packaging to ensure our finished goods and incoming components arrive on time and free from defects.

Your Responsibilities will be:

  • Prepare reports to support current and new model business performance
  • Design, specify, procure, implement, and provide line support for new model processes, tooling, and equipment as required.
  • Analyze quality issues for existing and new models, determine root causes, and support implementation of countermeasures and process improvements.
  • Strategically plan for standardization of equipment, programming, fixtures, visual aids, checklists, spare parts, and documentation.
  • Prepare PIR responses for quotations related to new business opportunities and design change proposals.
  • Participate in vendor selection, prototype builds, tooling design, documentation preparation, and procurement of new equipment and fixtures.
  • Attend QRQC/QRSC meetings, investigate root causes, and execute recommended corrective actions.
  • Update and maintain capacity charts and building layouts; develop future business plans based on capacity and layout improvements.
  • Create and maintain process documentation such as TPDs, Process Plan Sheets, PFEMAs, Process Flows, ETSs, TADS, and related benchmarks.
  • Participate in improvement team meetings and activities, including training for supervisors and technicians.
  • Attend planning meetings and equipment trials at external tool shops; evaluate equipment against specifications and support ongoing maintenance and modifications.
  • Design and develop returnable packaging solutions in response to PIRs and customer requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What Qualifications you will bring:

  • High school diploma or GED, with a Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline and 4–7 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s Degree with 3–6 years of experience.
  • Certification may be required in specific areas.
  • Experience working with integrated computer programs/applications.
  • Strong communication, administrative, and organizational skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple projects and programs.
  • Ability to pass background checks and pre-employment tests, including drug testing.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Other skills that we would welcome:

  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and other presentation or data management software.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing and quality management standards.
  • Experience in the automotive industry or similar manufacturing environments.
