About the Position:
We are looking for a Plant Purchasing Manager to join the Purchasing Propulsion team, reporting directly to the Propulsion EMEA Purchasing Manager.
This position is based at our office in Bari or Bologna.
As the Plant Purchasing Manager at Marelli, you will be responsible for overseeing the procurement of materials, equipment, and services necessary for the efficient operation of a manufacturing plant. This role ensures cost-effective purchasing while maintaining quality and delivery standards, and works closely with suppliers, internal departments, and plant leadership.
Your Responsibilities will be:
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned with plant goals.
- Manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production planning to avoid shortages or excess.
- Analyze market trends and supplier performance to optimize cost and quality.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure material specifications are met.
- Lead cost reduction initiatives and continuous improvement in procurement processes.
- Ensure timely delivery of goods and resolve any supply chain disruptions.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier performance.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and corporate standards.
What Qualifications you will bring:
- 5+ years of experience in purchasing or supply chain management, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Proven experience in vendor negotiation and contract management.
