About the Position:

We are looking for a Plant Controller to join the Japan Finance team, reporting directly to Japan Finance Country Controller. This position is based at Ora, Gunma in Japan.

As the Plant Controller at Marelli, you will be responsible to support the business and Gunma Plant Manager by analyzing the plant performance monthly and quarterly, and providing financial advices. The Gunma Plant Controller also oversees the plant performances including profit & loss statement, inventory & balance sheet, and forecast the future cashflow. Manage team members and guide them for streamlined financial support to the plant and motivate them to achieve the annual goals.

Your Responsibilities will be:

  • Understand the plant financial performance and prepare reporting materials for the stakeholders.  
  • Manage the plant finance team.
  • Provide accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial forecasts on monthly basis in order to support management’s critical business decision from financial point of views.
  • Lead decision-making by coordinating and developing the management reports, including variance analysis compared to company objectives and to past performance of the plant regarding the cost and balance sheet items (cash-flow, inventory and so on).
  • Lead and actively support the internal controls, especially the inventory counts and asset management.

What Qualifications you will bring:

 

  • 3 years + managerial experience in Finance/Accounting/Controlling area
  • Familiarity of system (HFM, SAP, basic Microsoft office software)
  • People management skills
  • Analytical skills to build insights from financial actual data in order to provide the accurate forecasts

Other skills that we would welcome:

 

  • Experiences in manufacturing or B to B industry 
  • English correspondence skill with basic reading and writing; TOEIC score of 500 or higher
  • Meeting the requirements proposed by the auditor
  • Flexibility for Ad-hoc requests that require immediate attention
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and open-mindedness for communication

Expectations from you in this position:

  • Ability to effectively explain what is happening at plant to the various stakeholders
  • Effective people management competency to raise engagement of the finance team
  • Agility and flexibility to meet ad-hoc requests requiring the urgent attention.
  • Ability to communicate with colleagues with open minds
  • Ability to make decisions from finance point of view, including business case preparation.
  • Good knowledge and user experiences of One Stream and SAP.
