About the Position:

 

We are looking for a Assembly Process Engineer to join the engineering team, reporting directly to the MFE Manager.
 

This position is based at our office in Pulaski TN.
 

As the Assembly Process Engieer at Marelli, you will be responsible develop, configure, and optimize industrial processes from inception through to start up and certification for Automotive Lighting assembly area.

Your Responsibilities will be:

  • Develop, configure, and optimize industrial processes from inception through to start up and certification – for Automotive Lighting assembly area.
  • Previous automotive lighting experience as advantage. With basics of photometry and legal requirements.
  • Ability to define process and document SOW (Scope of Work) – for any new equipment needed to establish or improve (optimize) industrial process.
  • Establishing Standard documenting process – Machine / Process Parameters Charts (MCC) / Standard Work Instruction (SOP), PFMEA and Reverse PFMEA and any other documents that are allowing to perform and control the process.
  • Developing Poka-Yokes and Error Proofing devices to improve quality of the product – KPI`s driven with Zero Losses mindset.
  • Assess processes, take measurements, and analyze data.
  • Designing and planning equipment layout – with focus on Workplace Organization including Material Feeding – Golden and Strike Zones for operator
  • Conducting tests and monitoring the process performance throughout production
  • Troubleshooting problems associated with manufacturing processes – Problem Solving Methodology
  • Understanding of Traceability systems architecture – functions and interfaces with production line to ensure that proper tracking is in place – apply necessary changes in case of ECR or PCR – Equipment or Process Changes
  • Develop best practices, routines, and innovative solutions to improve production rates and quality of output
  • Perform process simulation - DOE
  • Manage cost and time constraints

What Qualifications you will bring:

  • Preferred bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering or similar technical degree (5 years of experience working as a Process or Manufacturing Engineer in in the field setting can be substituted for the degree)
  • Minimum of 5 years of directly relevant working experience
  • Quality and environmental systems
  • EHS knowledge
  • Problem solving techniques expertise.
  • Strong Communication techniques
  • Knowledge of computer packages (MS OFFICE, SAP)
  • Lean manufacturing techniques

Other skills that we would welcome:

  • PLC and HMI- proficiency
  • Vision system, readers (Cognex or Keyence).
  • Robots (UR, YASKAWA, ABB or KUKA) – basic knowledge
  • Design (Solid works)- basic 2D and 3D modeling
  • Network (ProfNet and ethernet).
  • Wiring connection (Sensors, PLC, HMI, and vision system).
