About the Position:

 

We are looking for a [Application Engineer]  to join the [Product Development department in Ride Dynamics] team, reporting directly to the [Product Development Manager].
 

This position is based at our office in [Shanghai].
 

As the [Application Engineer] at Marelli, you will be responsible for the product tunning and testing.

Your Responsibilities will be:

1. Identify the damping force value requirements in the customer's RFQ, formulate and implement the performance calibration plan for shock absorbers based on the customer's nodes, carry out daily calibration work, define, review and optimize the characteristic curves of the shock absorber valve system to ensure the effectiveness and consistency of the valve system and meet the performance requirements proposed by the customer.

2. Understand the structure and performance characteristics of various valve systems. According to customer requirements, be able to quickly match the structure and performance of valve systems.

3. Coordinate resources for the calibration process and prepare the calibration package; Complete the chassis calibration work and track the acceptance.

4. Be responsible for the calibration of reports and the organization of outputs.

5. Be responsible for providing technical support for the customer's vehicle calibration and assist in optimizing and solving chassis performance issues;

6. Be responsible for establishing and maintaining the subjective evaluation system;

7. Support the optimization of the valve system design for traditional shock absorbers and solenoid valves;

8. Understand Python/MATLAB, be familiar with CAN communication, UDS diagnostic protocols, master tools such as CAN E /oe and INCA, and be capable of independently conducting data measurement and analysis;

9. Understand the core algorithms of suspension control and the control objectives of vehicle dynamics, and have a certain understanding of driving and riding comfort as well as handling stability;

What Qualifications you will bring:

 

  • 1. Educational background

    Bachelor's degree or above, majoring in vehicle engineering, mechanical engineering or related fields.

    2. Work Experience:

    More than 5 years of experience in automotive chassis performance development, with at least 3 years dedicated to shock absorber performance tuning. Those with successful tuning experience for mass-produced models are preferred.

  • 3. Language requirement: Fluent in English

Other skills that we would welcome:

1. Core Knowledge and Skills:

Expertise in tuning: Deeply understand the characteristics of shock absorbers and their influence mechanism on the overall vehicle performance (handling stability, smoothness), and be proficient in tuning methods and tools.

Test Interpretation: Proficiently master the characteristics of the valve system and quickly match the performance requirements of customers.

Electronic suspension: Candidates with experience in the tuning or calibration of electronic suspension systems (CDC, air suspension) are preferred.

Software tools: Proficient in using data analysis software (such as MATLAB/Simulink, DIAdem, nCode, advanced Excel analysis) and Office software.

2. Soft Skills

Stress resistance and adaptability: Capable of adapting to high-intensity work and frequent business trips to test sites.
