About the Position:
We are looking for a Manufacturing Engin. Senior Specialist to join the Manufacturing GT team, reporting directly to the Engineer Manager.
This position is based at our office in San Francisco Plant, Aguascalientes city.
As the Manufacturing Engin. Senior Specialist at Marelli, you will be responsible for driving manufacturing process excellence, supporting new product introduction, and leading complex engineering projects.
Your Responsibilities will be:
- Lead the planning, development, and optimization of manufacturing processes to achieve operational targets for safety, quality, cost, and delivery.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams during new product launches to ensure successful integration into production.
- Develop and implement advanced process controls and automation solutions.
- Perform root-cause analysis and resolve complex manufacturing issues.
- Drive continuous improvement activities (Kaizen, Lean, Six Sigma) across the plant.
- Conduct manufacturability assessments and propose design-for-manufacturing improvements.
- Support capitalization and investment projects, including equipment selection, installation, and commissioning.
- Generate and maintain documentation (PFMEA, control plans, work instructions, SOPs).
- Work closely with Quality, Maintenance, R&D, and Production teams to ensure effective process handovers and troubleshooting.
- Mentor and support other engineers and technicians within the team.
What Qualifications you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering within automotive, electronics, or similar environment.
- Proven knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and statistical process control.
- Hands-on experience with automation, robotics, and modern manufacturing technologies.
- Strong project management, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Experience with relevant software (CAD, simulation tools, MES, ERP systems).
Other skills that we would welcome:
- Experience in global automotive supplier/manufacturer environments.
- Familiarity with IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 standards.
- Ability to lead cross-cultural teams and projects.
