About the Position:

 

We are looking for a Packaging standards engineer GS  to join the SCM GTS team, reporting directly to the SCM Manager.
 

This position is based at our office in San Francisco Plant, Aguascalientes City.
 

As the Packaging standards engineer GS at Marelli, you will be responsible for ensuring that packaging processes and materials meet specific quality, safety, and efficiency standards. Within Marelli, this position would be integral to optimizing packaging solutions across various product lines. 

Your Responsibilities will be:

 

  • Packaging Design and Development:

    • Design and develop packaging solutions that meet the functional, aesthetic, and cost requirements of Marelli’s products and are aligned with industry standards.
    • Collaborate with design and production teams to ensure packaging meets technical specifications and product protection requirements.
  • Standards and Compliance:

    • Establish and maintain packaging standards and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and customer specifications.
    • Conduct regular reviews and updates of packaging materials and processes to maintain compliance and improve efficiency.
  • Material Selection and Optimization:

    • Evaluate and select appropriate packaging materials based on product requirements, environmental impact, and cost-effectiveness.
    • Work towards sustainable packaging solutions that align with Marelli’s environmental responsibilities and goals.
  • Testing and Quality Assurance:

    • Develop and implement testing protocols to assess the durability, efficiency, and safety of packaging solutions.
    • Conduct tests to validate packaging designs and ensure they meet internal and external quality standards.
  • Process Improvement:

    • Identify opportunities for process improvements in packaging operations to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
    • Implement innovative solutions and technologies in packaging processes to increase efficiency.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:

    • Work closely with supply chain, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to integrate packaging solutions into the overall production process.
    • Act as a liaison between suppliers and internal teams to ensure materials meet specified standards.
  • Documentation and Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate records and documentation of packaging specifications, standards, and compliance reports.
    • Prepare detailed reports and presentations for management regarding packaging projects, including cost analysis and implementation plans.
  • Training and Support:

    • Provide technical support and training to production teams regarding packaging standards and procedures.
    • Assist in troubleshooting packaging-related issues and implementing corrective actions.

What Qualifications you will bring:

 

  • Background in engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in packaging design and development.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements is essential.
  • Skills in project management
