About the Position:
We are looking for a Project Engineering Specialist to join the Product development GT team, reporting directly tothe GS.
This position is based at our office in San Francisco plant, Aguascalientes city.
As the Project Engineering Specialist at Marelli, you will act as a key liaison between design engineering andmanufacturing, ensuring new products are developed with robust, efficient, and cost-effective processes.
Your Responsibilities will be:
- Process Design:
Develop and refine manufacturing processes for new products, ensuring feasibility,scalability, and alignment with product requirements. - Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with product design, manufacturing, quality, test engineering,and supplier teams to integrate process requirements during product development. - Prototyping & Pilot Runs:
Support or lead prototype builds and pilot production activities to validateprocess capability and readiness. - DFM/A (Design for Manufacturability/Assembly):
Apply DFM/A principles during product design reviews tooptimize for manufacturability and assembly. - Process Optimization:
Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost savings, and risk mitigationthroughout development. - Documentation:
Prepare and maintain process documentation, including work instructions, PFMEAs(Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis), and control plans. - Validation & Testing:
Define and conduct process validation and capability studies to ensure product qualitystandards are met. - Problem Solving:
Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities as needed duringdevelopment and launch phases. - Technology Scouting:
Research and propose new technologies or methods to improve process robustnessor drive innovation. - Launch Support:
Provide hands-on support during initial production launches to ensure smooth transitionsfrom development to mass production.
What Qualifications you will bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
3+ years of experience in process engineering for product development, preferably in automotive ormanufacturing sectors.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes (e.g., assembly, machining, molding, stamping, electronics).
Experience with APQP, PPAP, and other automotive product development methodologies.
Other skills that we would welcome:
- Experience with process validation, statistical analysis, and lean manufacturing principles.
- Proficiency with engineering and process documentation tools (CAD, ERP/MES, etc.).
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and project management skills.
- Innovative mindset with a passion for continuous improvement and sustainability
