About the Position:
We are looking for a Accounting Senior Specialist to join the Finance team, in Green Technology Solutions Division, reporting directly to the Plant Controller.
This position is based at our office in Shelbyville, TN.
As the Accounting Senior Specialist at Marelli, you will be responsible for analyzing financial data, creating financial models, and collaborate with all manufacturing function to improve the financial performance of the organization.
Your Responsibilities will be:
- Launch, coordinate, collect, analyze, challenge, consolidate, and report US Business Plans. The development of the Business Plan is an approximately six (6) month in depth project from start to completion. This position must not only be capable of detail analysis of the submitted data but must also be able to clearly articulate change points to senior management. This responsibility covers revenues in excess of $500m, Material costs in excess of $300m and structural costs of approximately $200M.
- Analyze and provide monthly financial reporting and analysis for MNA region with specific emphasis on US operations P&L (Profit & Loss) and Cash Flow analysis.
- Analyze large volumes of financial data and assess reasonableness / accuracy of data output. If problems are detected, position is responsible for utilizing their comprehensive / expert knowledge to quickly investigate, determine, and resolve the issues. In order to fully analyze some issues, this position may have to facilitate the problem solving process in a team environment including CIS, other Accounting team members, shipping / receiving, purchasing, sales, etc…
- Position must successfully use a high level of interpersonal communication skills by working at all levels, with functional leaders, and cross-regional globally.
- On a cross-regional basis, this position will provide detailed analysis for the Business Planning process and monthly Variance Analysis & Reporting.
- Position must continuously work under and meet tight deadlines, especially during month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings.
- Utilize knowledge and tracking metrics of operations, supply chain, process engineering, new product launch, research and development, quality control and maintenance operations to attain budgeted target EBIT. Manufacturing operations and inventory knowledge will be critical in this role.
- Responsible for conceptualizing and developing innovative working tools that deliver real-time accurate data using many software systems. This responsibility will require the position to learn the functionality of these systems to better guide cost issues.
- Research and compile data for special studies and financial reporting / analysis as requested on an on-going basis.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

What Qualifications you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. Advanced degrees or professional certifications, (e.g., CPA, ACCA) are strongly preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting analysis or a related role is required.
Other skills that we would welcome:
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, financial modeling, and financial analysis techniques. Experience with financial software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, IFS, Onestream) is preferred.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
Detail-Oriented: High degree of accuracy and attention to detail in preparing financial reports and analyses.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with colleagues at all levels of the organization.
