About the Position:
We are looking for a Plant Controller to join the Finance team, reporting directly to the Finance CFO.
This position is based at our office in Shelbyville, TN.
The Plant Controller takes a pivotal leadership role within the finance department. Reporting directly to the Divisional Controlling, this role encompasses comprehensive financial responsibility across our plant operations spanning budgeting, planning, and intricate cost analysis related to production and its associative processes, such as purchasing and sales. Charged with the mission to enhance operational efficiency and escalate plant profitability, the Senior Manager, Controlling, embodies the financial nerve center, facilitating alignment between financial objectives and production imperatives.
Your Responsibilities will be:
- Financial Leadership across Functions: This role is crucial in controlling financial functions across the plant, impacting sales, purchasing, cash flow, and new projects, ensuring that these align with corporate goals and division reporting structures.
- Team Direction and Service Coordination: Directs team members and manages the interface with shared services to maintain coherence in financial activities related to plant operations.
- KPI and Budget Alignment: Ensures KPIs and budget targets are effectively tracked in collaboration with plant management, leveraging insights for optimizing operations.
- Strategic Recommendations: By analyzing operations, this role recommends initiatives for continuous improvement.
- Financial Planning and Analysis: Leads critical financial processes like MTP, annual budgeting, and forecasting, while working alongside the Plant Manager for seamless alignment.
- Expenditure Investigation: Reviews spending to identify potential improvements, supports variance analysis, and provides insightful commentary on financial drivers.
- Variance Analysis: Analyzes production variances related to materials and labor, driving root cause investigations and tracking scrap data for process improvements.
- Expense Management and Codification: Ensures correct expense coding in line with company standards, and monitors expenditure across key categories to reduce costs
- Accounting and Reporting Skills: Utilizes accounting skills to manage bookings such as depreciation and warranty provisions, contributing to reducing these expenses.
- Financial Reporting and Planning: Manages accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly financial packages, periodic re-forecasting, annual and five-year business plans, and KPI reporting.
- Corporate Alignment: Ensures all financial activities align with corporate policies by managing local ledgers and reporting systems, crucial for a successful year-end audit preparation
What Qualifications you will bring:
Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience:
- 8+ years of substantial experience in a Financial Controlling role or similar capacity, possessing a proven track record of driving significant financial results.
- Fluency in English required with the ability to articulate and influence across all levels of the organization.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Proficient in SAP across one or more modules, with an authoritative understanding of financial systems and protocols.
- Expertise in advanced data management and analysis, exhibiting proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VBA Macros) and PowerPoint.
- A demonstrated ability in decision-making, including adeptness in business case preparation and strategic coordination.
- Curiosity and Team spirit to maximize synergies and results across all functions in the plant.
Other skills that we would welcome:
- Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- International work experience within Finance field.
- Bilingual (English and Spanish).
- Certification in Lean Manufacturing.
- Expertise in accounting with interaction with External Auditors.
- Expertise in Internal controls framework with involvement to Internal Audit activities.
- Proficient in One Stream and other Business Intelligence Tools.
