About the Position:

 

We are looking for a Quality Engineer to join the Quality team, reporting directly to the Quality Manager.
 

This position is based at our office in Shelbyville, TN.
 

As the Quality Engineer at Marelli, you will be responsible/support/elevate.....

Your Responsibilities will be:

1. Monitor information associated with the quality of a project, make process improvements and evaluate corrective actions taken.  
2. Address any quality issues associated within a project and communicate to manufacturing departments any quality alerts needed for successful launch.  
3. Communicate with supplier/vendor regarding nonconforming material/product.  
4. Evaluating and tracking customer returns/rejects.  
5. Plans, develops and implements process controls to reduce customer rejects.  
6. Prepare any documentation associated with project launch and develop quality targets.  
7. Attend meetings and coordinate any training associated with the launch of a new project.  
8. Travel to customer location associated with product quality/function.  
9. Attend tool trials and perform internal joint checks to feedback part development/quality issues.  
10. Coordinate functional trials and Part Submission approval for initial part approval and design changes to current production components.  
11. Submit parts approval documentation to the customer.  
12. Coordinate part availability with development testing/dimensional analysis and communicate schedule.  
13. Document issues on Product Development Record through out development cycle.  
14. Recommend design changes to correct Fit and Finish issues.  
15. Communicates frequently with internal and external contacts on various issues.  
16. Performs other duties as assigned.

What Qualifications you will bring:

 • Have a high school diploma or GED.  

• Have a Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline and generally two to five years experience in related field   

• Certifications are preferred in some areas.  

• Have experience working with integrated computer programs and/or applications.  

• Have strong communication, administrative and organizational skills, and the ability to coordinate multiple projects and programs.  

• Be able to pass all background checks and pre-employment tests, including any required drug test.  

• Be able to maintain the confidentiality of any information s/he encounters 

Other skills that we would welcome:

• A Master’s Degree and two to four years experience in related field.  

Intermediate to advanced experience (beyond basic data entry) working with computer applications such as Word, Excel, Lotus Notes, PowerPoint, and other presentation applications and/or software.
