With a direct impact on performance, safety and in-cabin comfort, Ride Dynamics systems – such as suspension systems and shock absorbers – work “behind the scenes” to ensure an ideal onboard experience for the driver and passengers, regardless of the type of propulsion, be it traditional or electric.
About the Position:
We are looking for a Plant Process Quality to join the Ride Dynamics Sulmona Quality team, reporting directly to the Sulmona Quality Plant Manager.
This position is based at our office in Sulmona (IT).
As the Plant Process Quality at Marelli, you will be responsible of monitoring and controlling of all the processes, evaluation and approval of corrective actions, in order to produce quality metrics for managerial review.
Your Responsibilities will be:
- To manage the absenteeism and to guarantee the required quality levels
- Reduce quality risks in Manufacturing by attending the initiatives for Risk Assessment and Mitigation (ex. P-FMEA) and supporting initial release of processes (in connection to product and process changes)
- Validate / maintain / update Control Plans, OPL and Control Instruction along all the process phases
- Ensure Customer Claims Management by systematic use of MMS tools and 8D enhanced reports, in cooperation with Customer Quality
- Evaluate and update Quality related process documents (es. P-FMEA, Control Plans etc.) after Customer Complaints and changes, assuring follow-up of the Quality procedures
- Apply Quality Procedures (Approval of first produced parts, Layered audits, Welding Process and Product Audits, Control Plans, Controls Instructions) according to defined standards.
- Train Manufacturing Associates, Supervisors and Team Leaders on handling / inspection / release criteria.
- Perform scrap data collection, their stratification and analysis to identify root causes, supporting plant activities for scrap reduction
- Develop MMS (for Plant and specific processes ) to prioritize Quality issues and address proper countermeasures.
- Apply the 7 QC steps to attack Quality problems caused from 4M (Machine,Method,Man,Material)
- Attack repetitive Human Error with proper tools (TWTTP, HERCA, Firewall) in conjunction with other dept.
- Control of cost (COPQ) reduce the cost of providers, scrap.
- Stop production whenever necessary to prevent delivery of parts not conforming to Customer specific and legal requirements
- Ensure periodical product requalification (according to Customer and QMS requirements)
- Perform Conformity of Production (COP) verification on product characteristics submitted to type approval, regulatory and safety requirements
- Apply MSA techniques and carry out R&R analyses on measuring and monitoring systems in production
- Provide and control RDA for all the activities done by providers
What Qualifications you will bring:
- Mechanical Engineering Degree
- At least 3 years within the automotive sector or similar

- Scrap data collection and analysis at Plant level
- Standard procedures and methods (OPL, Visual aids, people training)
- Knowledge about IATF 16949/2016.
