About the Position:
We are looking for a PP&C & MMS Engineer to join the Automotive Lighting team, reporting directly to the plant manager.
This position is based at our office in Tepotzotlan, México.
As the PP&C & MMS Engineer at Marelli, you will be responsible for optimizing production planning and control processes and managing manufacturing systems within the Automotive Lighting division. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to improve efficiency, enhance production capabilities, and support strategic goals.
Your Responsibilities will be:

Production Planning & Control:
- Develop and oversee production schedules to ensure timely delivery of products.
- Monitor production processes and workflows, identifying bottlenecks and devising solutions.
- Coordinate with procurement and logistics to align supply chain activities with production demands.

Manufacturing Management Systems:
- Implement and maintain advanced manufacturing management systems to optimize production operations.
- Analyze system data to provide insights for continuous improvement and efficiency gains.
- Collaborate with IT and operational teams for system upgrades and troubleshooting.

Continuous Improvement:
- Lead and support process improvement initiatives within production and manufacturing systems.
- Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to drive waste reduction and quality improvements.

Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Work with engineering, quality, and R&D teams to support new product introductions and manufacturing innovations.
- Foster strong communication and cooperation with all stakeholders to ensure alignment with business objectives.
What Qualifications you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in production planning, control, and manufacturing systems.
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in manufacturing software and ERP systems.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Other skills that we would welcome:
- Experience in the automotive lighting industry.
- Certification in project management or Lean Six Sigma.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects.
Expectations from you in this position:

Efficiency Optimization:
- Demonstrating the ability to analyze and improve production schedules, resulting in at least a 10% increase in efficiency or reduction in lead time within the first year.

System Implementation & Management:
- Successfully implementing and overseeing upgrades or changes to manufacturing management systems with minimal disruption. Expected to enhance system functionality and user engagement.

Continuous Improvement:
- Leading at least two major continuous improvement projects annually, aimed at reducing waste and enhancing product quality, backed by measurable outcomes.
- Expectation to introduce innovative practices that align with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.

Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Effectively collaborating with at least three different departments (such as R&D, Quality, and Logistics) on strategic projects to foster a more cohesive production environment.

Problem-Solving & Analysis:
- Quickly identifying production bottlenecks with data-supported decision-making, providing actionable solutions within tight timeframes to prevent delays.

Communication:
- Maintaining clear and consistent communication with management and team members, providing detailed reports and updates on project statuses and system performances monthly.

Adaptability & Learning:
- Actively seeking development opportunities to stay updated with industry trends and new technologies, applying this knowledge to improve current processes.

Safety & Compliance:
- Ensuring all production planning and system activities are compliant with industry safety standards and Marelli’s internal policies, thereby contributing to a safe working environment.
