About the Position:

 

We are looking for a Production Unit Senior Specialist to join the Manufacturing Lighting team, reporting directly to the Manufacturing Coordinator.
 

This position is based at our office in Tepotzotlán, México.
 

As the Production Unit Senior Specialist at Marelli, you will be responsible to ensures efficient manufacturing operations by driving continuous improvement, supporting shift teams, coordinating problem-solving, and maintaining the highest standards for safety, quality, and productivity in lighting product assembly. 

Your Responsibilities will be:

  • Oversee day-to-day production, ensuring schedules and quality targets are met for lighting products.
  • Analyze operational performance and implement process improvements, utilizing Lean Manufacturing and Marelli Production System principles.
  • Monitor production KPIs, troubleshoot bottlenecks, and propose corrective actions.
  • Support new product launches and engineering changes, ensuring seamless integration.
  • Facilitate and lead root cause analysis for production issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams (Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, Logistics).
  • Train and coach production team members on best practices and standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure that safety, environmental, and compliance standards are maintained at all times.
  • Contribute to reporting and documentation, preparing daily or shift production summaries.
  • Participate in audits (internal/external) and support the implementation of corrective actions.

What Qualifications you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum [X] years’ experience in automotive manufacturing; lighting experience is a strong asset.
  • Solid understanding of production processes (injection molding, assembly, etc.) and quality assurance in automotive lighting.
  • Proficiency in Lean, Six Sigma, and/or Marelli Production System tools.
  • Strong decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Knowledge of safety/environmental regulations, IATF 16949, ISO 14001.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

  • Familiarity with manufacturing execution systems (MES), SAP, or other ERP platforms.
  • Experience with automated equipment, robotics, and data analytics for manufacturing.

  • Ability to work effectively in diverse, international teams.
  • Knowledge of additional languages is a strong asset (e.g., English, Italian, Polish, Chinese, etc.).

  • Understanding of energy-saving initiatives, waste reduction, and circular economy concepts relevant to manufacturing.

8. Advanced Problem-Solving

  • Use of root cause analysis methods (such as 8D, DMAIC, Fishbone Diagram).
  • Comfort with troubleshooting complex technical or process issues.

9. Communication & Presentation

  • Ability to clearly present findings and recommendations to management or cross-functional teams.
  • Strong reporting and documentation skills, including creating SOPs and training materials.

10. Agility & Resilience

  • Ability to stay focused and effective in dynamic or high-pressure environments.

    • Escalate critical issues as appropriate and follow up to closure.

    • Work closely with Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and Logistics to ensure seamless production flow and quick resolution of cross-departmental challenges.
    • Participate actively in company projects and initiatives.

    • Embrace and help implement new technologies, processes, or products, supporting the transformation to Industry 4.0 where possible.
    • Encourage openness and adaptability to change among team members.
