About the Position:

 

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the Electronics Engineering & Innovation team, reporting directly to the Software Engineering Manager.
 

This position is based at our office in Mexico, Tepotzotlán or Aguascalientes.
 

As the Senior Software Engineer at Marelli, you will be responsible for designing and implementing cutting-edge software solutions within Marelli’s electronics division. This individual will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver robust software architectures that meet the highest standards of quality and performance. 

Your Responsibilities will be:

 

  • Lead the design and development of software solutions for electronic systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers and project managers, to gather requirements and deliver integrated solutions.
  • Evaluate and integrate new technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance software development processes.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to software development teams, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Conduct code reviews and design assessments to ensure adherence to best practices and industry standards.
  • Develop and maintain architecture documentation, ensuring clarity and accessibility for stakeholders.
  • Identify potential risks and mitigation strategies throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Oversee the implementation of software that meets functional, quality, and regulatory requirements.

What Qualifications you will bring:

 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Over 10 years of experience in software development and architecture, with a focus on electronic systems.
  • Proficient in programming languages and frameworks relevant to electronic systems (e.g., C/C++, Python, Java).
  • Strong knowledge of embedded systems and real-time operating systems (RTOS).
  • Experience with software development tools and methodologies, including Agile, Scrum, and DevOps.

Other skills that we would welcome:

 

  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles in software architecture.
  • Knowledge of Machine Learning and AI, IoT, Cloud Computing.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and techniques.
  • Understanding of networking principles and protocols (e.g., CAN, LIN, Ethernet) relevant to automotive electronics.
  • Skills in UI/UX.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading large-scale software projects and guiding development teams.
  • Ability to work effectively in a global team environment, understanding cultural nuances and adjusting communication styles accordingly.
