About the Position:
We are looking for an Operations Manager ASSY to join the Manufacturing team, reporting directly to the Plant Manager.
This position is based at our plant in Toluca.
The Operations Manager – Pre-Production is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all activities related to the pre-production phase, ensuring seamless transition from product development to mass production. This role bridges engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing to secure optimal readiness for launch.
Your Responsibilities will be:
- Lead cross-functional pre-production activities, ensuring alignment with quality, cost, and timeline objectives.
- Collaborate with R&D, Program Management, and Manufacturing to establish and monitor pre-production schedules.
- Oversee prototype builds, pilot runs, and validation activities; resolve process bottlenecks and facilitate process improvement initiatives.
- Manage resource allocation (personnel, equipment, and materials) to support pre-production requirements.
- Develop and implement workflows, documentation, and reporting for pre-production processes.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with Marelli’s safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Support continuous improvement activities, utilizing lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Coordinate training and knowledge transfer to production teams as products transition to full-scale manufacturing.
- Identify risks related to launch readiness and propose mitigation strategies.
- Communicate status, issues, and solutions to stakeholders and leadership.
What Qualifications you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Production Management, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing or operations management, preferably in automotive or high-volume production.
- Strong understanding of pre-production processes, new product introduction, and launch operations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams in a matrix organization.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing, APQP, and other relevant methodologies.
