About the Position:

 

We are looking for a Plant Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join the Manufacturing Engineering team, reporting directly to the Plant Manager.
 

This position is based at our plant in Toluca.
 

The Plant Manufacturing Engineering Sr Manager leads and manages all manufacturing engineering activities at the plant to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality production. They drive process improvement, innovation, and cross-functional collaboration, supporting plant objectives for productivity, quality, cost, and delivery. The role is responsible for developing engineering teams, implementing new technologies, and ensuring compliance with company standards and automotive industry requirements.

Your Responsibilities will be:

 

  • Lead and oversee the plant’s manufacturing engineering team, providing direction, development, and support.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen) to optimize processes, reduce waste, and improve efficiency.
  • Ensure timely implementation of new equipment, processes, and tooling for new product launches and engineering changes.
  • Collaborate with other plant departments (production, quality, maintenance, logistics) to resolve operational issues and support overall plant performance.
  • Manage capital expenditure projects, including budgeting, planning, installation, and commissioning.
  • Maintain plant compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards (ISO/TS16949, IATF 16949, OSHA, etc.).
  • Develop and implement solutions for process problems and root-cause analysis of production defects.
  • Analyze data and KPIs to identify opportunities for improvement and report progress to plant leadership.
  • Evaluate and introduce new manufacturing technologies and digitalization initiatives (e.g., Industry 4.0, automation, IIoT).
  • Mentor, coach, and develop engineering talent within the team.
  • Support cost reduction, efficiency improvement, and sustainability objectives.

What Qualifications you will bring:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related field); Master’s degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering within the automotive industry; 3+ years in management roles.
  • Demonstrated expertise in process improvement methodologies and project management.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
  • Experience with automotive standards, equipment installation, and launch management.
  • Data-driven approach and problem-solving capabilities.
