About the Position:

 

We are looking for a Supply Chain and Logistics engineer to join the SCM GTS team, reporting directly to the SCM Manager.
 

This position is based at our office in Toluca plant.
 

As the Supply Chain and Logistics engineer at Marelli, you will be responsible of optimizing the supply chain processes and improving overall logistics efficiency 

Your Responsibilities will be:

  • Inbound Logistics: Managing the receipt, storage, and handling of raw materials and components needed for production. This includes coordinating with suppliers to ensure timely delivery.

  • Inventory Management: Monitoring and controlling inventory levels to balance the cost of holding stock with the need to meet production demands. This includes implementing just-in-time (JIT) practices to reduce excess inventory.

  • Material Handling: Ensuring the safe and efficient movement of materials within the plant, including the use of automated systems where applicable.

  • Production Scheduling: Collaborating with production planners to ensure that materials are available to meet manufacturing schedules without delays.

  • Outbound Logistics: Overseeing the packaging, storage, and dispatch of finished goods to distribution centers or directly to customers, ensuring that products are shipped in accordance with delivery timelines and quality standards.

  • Warehouse Management: Utilizing warehouse management systems (WMS) to improve the tracking and storage of goods, ensuring efficient space utilization and retrieval processes.

  • Lean Practices: Implementing lean manufacturing principles to streamline logistics operations within the plant, focusing on reducing waste and optimizing processes.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Working closely with production, procurement, quality, and sales teams to align logistics operations with overall business objectives.

  • Technology Utilization: Leveraging technology, such as RFID tags, barcoding, and ERP systems, to enhance visibility and control over the supply chain processes.

  • Sustainability Initiatives: Developing strategies to reduce environmental impact through more sustainable logistics practices, such as optimizing transportation routes and improving packaging efficiency.

What Qualifications you will bring:

 

  • A bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, industrial engineering, business administration, or a related field is often required.
  • Advanced degrees or certifications in supply chain management can be advantageous.
  • Proficiency in supply chain management software, such as ERP systems (e.g., SAP), warehouse management systems (WMS), and logistics planning tools.
  • Previous experience in logistics, supply chain management, or manufacturing operations.
  • A solid understanding of logistics and supply chain principles, including inventory management, production scheduling, and lean manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with industry best practices and trends in logistics and supply chain operations.

Other skills that we would welcome:

 

  •  Ability to identify inefficiencies in current logistics processes and implement effective solutions.
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma is beneficial.
  • Ability to work well in a team and influence others to drive projects forward.
