About the Position:
We are looking for a temporary Project Buyer for a maternity leave replacement in the Ride Dynamics HQ Purchasing Team, reporting directly to the Purchasing Product Development Manager.
This position is based at our office in Torino.
As the Project Buyer at Marelli, you will be responsible to ensure all new components into BOMs are assigned to preferred suppliers within project milestones and below target cost. Within the Project Core Teams, you will be the Functional Project Leader for Purchasing.
Your Responsibilities will be:
- Interface and align with other Departments (Program Managment, Engineering, Cost Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing).
- Act with ethics and ensure the respect of Direct Material Sourcing Process (DMSP).
- Organize and lead Technical Reviews with suppliers and Core Team members.
- Select best suppliers according to costs, timing, commodity strategy, supplier localization, suppliers risk evaluation and quality.
- Present each sourcing to the relevant Sourcing Committee.
- Draft legal contracts (Supply contract).
- Place regular Purchase Orders on SAP based on plant needs.
- Monitor BOM cost and drive team in achieving Target Cost per each new component.
- Follow up APQP (Advance Product Quality Planning) activities, supporting the resolution of any production issue.
What Qualifications you will bring:
- Degree in Economics / Engineering with at least 3 years of experience in Purchasing, preferably in automotive industry
Other skills that we would welcome:
- Understanding of technical drawing
- SAP Material Management
- Production technologies
- Raw material indexation (to MEPS, BDV, etc.)
- Draft of legal contracts (Supply contract)
- MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Fluency in English and Italian (fluency in Chinese will be considered a plus)
