About the Position:

We are looking for a New Developments and Packaging Engineer  to join the Green Technologies Logistics team, reporting directly to the GT Supply Chain & Logistics Manager.

This position is based at our office in Venaria, Italy. 

As the New Developments and Packaging Engineer at Marelli, you will center around innovative and effective design and implementation of packaging solutions for new products.

Your Responsibilities will be:

  • During the RFQ Phase:
    • define, propose and calculate SC Concepts (Inbound/Outbound and Plant internal flows – MIFA/VSM, packaging specifications, transport frequency, stock, surface, investment, MOD-MOI, IT information flow with customer and supplier…) in line with Group Guidelines and Standards
    • define Packaging cards for Tier 2 Suppliers / Finished goods., Define technical specs for Tier2 Suppliers / FG  Packaging.  Participate to packaging Sourcing process, evaluating packaging suppliers proposals under a technical perspective
  • During the Concept Phase: 
    • for new Awarded Programs, support Program Team (PUR, PM…) in the definition of the SC Concepts in coordination with the Plant Logistics 
  • During Product& Process Development:
    • coordinate, define and validate with Plant Logistics the Logistics - Specifications (S.L.A.), Packaging                                              
  • During the Industrialization:
    • support Program Team (PUR, PM…) and Plant Logistics in the deployment and/or transition of Logistics concepts. With support of Material Management Ensure that Plant Logistics coordinates component delivery, ERP parameters entry, follow up of transportation deployment,. sign off Service Level Agreement, EDI establishment 
  • During the Process Validation:
    • ensure that Plant Logistics coordinates internal flow deployment, Logistics Team training, spare parts flows and ramp up preparation. Identify critical suppliers, organize visits and define with them corrective actions to prepare and ensure ramp up. Maintain tracking of Logistics costs – calculate, update and optimize to be within BP 
  • During the Ramp up:
    • identify discrepancies and coordinate with plant Logistics corrective actions to secure Ramp up and serial life 
    • develop and execute Logistics Program Score-Card to track on time delivery (OTD) of Logistics work packages
    • attend to Program Review Meetings, PUR Sourcing Committee and Functional Milestones reviews
    • train Program Teams on SC Standards, routines / procedures, processes or best practices / lessons learned and standardize among New Programs 
    • support/Exchange with Group/Region operation, transport, customs, supply chain, processes to ensure  standardization and synergy opportunities between new Programs and also ongoing programs

What Qualifications you will bring:

  • You are an engineer with a solid experience in packaging and logistics
  • You have direct experience in RFQ processes and packaging design
  • You are Skilled in ERP tools management, advanced in Excel and MS tools, able to work with Power BI
  • Excellent Italian and English; additional languages are highly appreciated
