About the Position:
We are looking for a Equipment Development Engineer to join the Electronic Shop-Manufacturing Engineering team, reporting directly to the Plant manager.
This position is based at our office in Wuhu.
As the Equipment Development Engineer at Marelli, you will be responsible for follow business needs to achieve the relevant job.
· Lead the entire process of a new project from customer requirement analysis to mass production and develop a project schedule (APQP/PPAP milestones).
· Coordinate R&D, Process, Quality, Logistic, Production and other departments to ensure resource matching and task implementation.
· Regularly hold project meetings, track progress, and report risks and solutions to management.
· Participate in technical reviews (such as RFQ, design freeze), analyze product feasibility (materials, processes, costs).
· Assist the engineering team in completing DFM (Design for Manufacturability) assessments and driving design optimization.
Your Responsibilities will be:
• Lead the prototype trial production and track the testing and validation (DV/PV) issues in a closed loop.
• Lead trial production (trial operation, small batch trial production), verify the stability of the process and ensure that the pace meets the standards.
• Lead the process/equipment issues during trial production (such as tooling and fixture debugging, yield improvement).
• Ensure that PPAP documents (control plan, FMEA, MSA, etc.) are submitted on time and approved by the client.
• Monitor the actual cost vs. budget of the project and promote cost reduction measures such as material substitution and efficiency optimization.
• Identify project risks (supply chain, technical bottlenecks) and develop emergency plans.
What Qualifications you will bring:
• More than 3 years of NPL/APQP/PMP experience in the automotive parts industry, familiarity with interior, electronics, wiring harnesses, or metal parts is preferred.
• Fully participated in the entire process of at least 2 automotive parts projects from development to SOP.
• Familiar with automotive industry standards such as IATF 16949, VDA 6.3, APQP, PPAP, etc.
Other skills that we would welcome:
• Excellent cross departmental communication and stress resistance skills.
• Proficient in English reading and writing (required to communicate with international clients.
Expectations from you in this position:
• Proficient in using CAD/CAE software (such as CATIA, UG) and PLM systems.
• Understand stamping, injection molding, welding and other processes, as well as equipment debugging.
• Proficient in project management tools (MS Project, JIRA) and data analysis tools (Minitab, Excel).
