About the Position:

 

We are looking for a Materials and Fundamental Technology Team Engineer  to join the Interiors Division]team,means becoming a part of something bigger, a place where you can explore your potential, pioneer innovation, reporting directly to the[Materials and Fundamental Technology Team Engineer’s Manager.
 

This position is based at our office in Saitama Yoshimi Japan.
 

As the Materials and Fundamental Technology Team Engineer at Marelli,

you will be responsible….

In this position, we aim to contribute to society by improving the performance of next-generation automotive parts and sustainability through the research and development of innovative materials. Duties include collecting information on new materials, analyzing materials, prototyping parts, and judging their suitability through experimental evaluations, as well as improving existing materials and solving problems. You will be responsible for working independently on these activities in collaboration with related departments both inside and outside the company, reporting the status to your superiors, and always having a mindset of pursuing innovation with a passion for exploring new technologies.

Your Responsibilities will be:

  •    Consideration of product application of new materials: performance verification, test sample prototyping, experiment planning, etc.
  •  Communication and coordination between customers and material manufacturers
  •   Research on market trends for materials
  •  Research on market trends for construction methods for automotive interior parts, and information gathering activities at exhibitions

What Qualifications you will bring:

  • Education: Graduate of a university or technical school in the field of chemical engineering or mechanical engineering.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in resin material development or automotive resin part design.
  • Or at least 5 years of experience in design as a materials engineer.
  • Ability to communicate in English via email (TOEIC 500 or above is preferred).
  • Ability to speak simple English (not intimidated by conversation).
  • Fluent Japanese.
  • Able to use Excel, Power Point, Word.

Other skills that we would welcome:

  • Experience with 3D-CAD (NX, Catia)
  • Experience with using AI to improve work efficiency is desirable.
  • Problem-solving skills (knowledge of PA, DA, PPA, etc. is desirable)
  • Knowledge of production technology for plastic parts

Expectations from you in this position:

  • Set goals in consultation with your supervisor and carry out your work based on company policy.
  • Find seeds of sustainable materials and work with the design team to propose them.
  • Consider evaluation items for the basic performance of materials and work with relevant departments

         to carry out the evaluation. Propose selection of areas where materials can be applied, etc.

  • Responsible for joint development items with customers, creating schedules and action lists and

         executing them yourself.
