About the Position:
We are looking for a Senior Project Buyer to join the Purchasing Interior's team, reporting directly to the Purchasing Manager.
This position is based at our office in Aguascalientes.
As the Senior Project Buyer at Marelli, you will be responsible/support/elevate.....
Your Responsibilities will be:
• Interpret engineering drawings and possess basic knowledge of raw materials and production processes.
• Conduct market research and analysis, including trends, exchange rates, and new technologies.
• Estimate costs through a comprehensive analysis of cost structure.
• Request, analyze, compare, and negotiate quotations in terms of quality, cost, and delivery.
• Ensure the selection, nomination, and development of strategic suppliers for new projects to secure material supply in accordance with launch schedules, target costs, and technical specifications; continuously monitor supplier performance during development, managing risks and corrective actions to ensure a successful production launch.
• Manage the follow-up and negotiation of commercial contracts.
• Follow up, negotiate, and update costs in a timely manner based on:
o New business
o Engineering changes
o Market fluctuations
o Exchange rate variations
• Meet cost-reduction targets in accordance with KPIs through activities such as benchmarking, commercial agreements, and supplier audits.
• Identify, analyze, and mitigate supply chain risks, including financial, operational, geopolitical, and market risk assessments, through preventive strategies, contingency plans, and supplier diversification.
• Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with suppliers, requiring compliance with quality, cost, and delivery standards.
• Ability to communicate clearly with suppliers and internal departments, including finance, legal, operations, and management.

• General knowledge of supply chain, Incoterms, lead times, etc.

• Risk management awareness.

• Communication and collaboration skills.
