About the Position:
We are looking for a Test Engineer to join the Desing Interior team, reporting directly to the Manager
This position is based at our office in Marelli Plant PIVA
As the Test Enginerr at Marelli, you will be responsible for conducting product tests and preparing written reports for the requestor or design engineer. The role ensures that product development, verification, and validation testing are performed accurately, properly documented, and reported promptly.
Additionally, the position assists Design Engineers in developing solutions to issues identified during testing or the design process. Responsibilities include participating in the preparation of test plans (such as DOE, Test Status Matrix) and test part orders to meet customer and program requirements. The role supports both internal and customer meetings as needed and may require some domestic and occasional international travel.
Your Responsibilities will be:
- DVP&R Management: Develop, manage, and publish Design Verification & Reporting (DVP&R) plans for automotive interior parts in alignment with program timing. Create test matrices to validate product performance, and develop and monitor test schedules.
- Testing and Validation: Lead physical validation activities, including the management, inspection, and testing of components and assemblies, as well as proper setup of test equipment in accordance with internal and customer specifications.
- Supplier and Vendor Management: Coordinate with suppliers and external test laboratories to facilitate testing and ensure timely delivery of components.
- Issue Resolution: Document test results and identified issues, investigate root causes of failures, and drive corrective actions.
- Assist engineers in developing plans and procedures for testing, calibration, repair, and evaluation to ensure measurement accuracy and reliability.
- Ensure instrumentation and equipment meet established standards and conform to IATF 16949 requirements.
- Technical Support: Represent engineering at design reviews, initiate test requests, and support cost-saving initiatives.
- Tool Proficiency: Skilled in the use of both hand and power tools.
- 5S Maintenance: Maintain the physical condition and organization of the test laboratory.
What Qualifications you will bring:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Plastics, Manufacturing, or relevant field).
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of validation engineering or testing experience in the automotive industry.
- Technical Skills: Experience in interior product engineering.
- Documentation: Proficient in creating DVP&R documentation, test protocols, and summary reports.
- Software Proficiency: Skilled in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and simulation/data analysis tools (e.g., Matlab, Minitab).
- Soft Skills: Strong communication skills to effectively interact with engineering teams, suppliers, and customers.
