About the Position:

We are looking for a Clean Room Manufacturing Manager to join our Electronic Systems Plant team, reporting directly to the Plant Manager.

This position is based at our plant in Aguascalientes, Mexico.

As the Clean Room Manufacturing Manager at Marelli, you will be responsible for leading and optimizing manufacturing operations within clean room environments, ensuring safe, high-quality, and efficient production processes for electronic components.

This role requires strong leadership, technical manufacturing expertise, and solid knowledge of electronic production processes such as SMT, BE processes, assembly, selective soldering, electronic testing, process validation, and defect analysis, among others.

You will lead production teams, manage resources, and collaborate with cross-functional departments to achieve operational excellence, production goals, quality targets, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Your Responsibilities will be:

 

  • Oversee daily clean room manufacturing operations, ensuring compliance with clean room standards such as ISO 14644 or equivalent.
  • Manage and optimize electronic manufacturing processes including SMT, BE, assembly, selective soldering, testing, inspection, and related production areas.
  • Ensure proper equipment setup, process control, production flow, and quality assurance across manufacturing lines.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on yield improvement, throughput, productivity, cost reduction, and defect reduction.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of production supervisors, line operators, technicians, and support staff.
  • Ensure team training and compliance with clean room protocols, ESD control, contamination prevention, safety standards, and SMT/electronic manufacturing best practices.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, maintenance, supply chain, and logistics teams to solve production issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Monitor and report key performance indicators, including cycle time, first-pass yield, scrap, defect rates, productivity, downtime, and overall equipment effectiveness.
  • Manage preventive and corrective maintenance coordination for manufacturing equipment such as pick-and-place machines, reflow ovens, AOI, SPI, selective soldering equipment, assembly stations, test equipment, and related systems.
  • Support process validation, line readiness, product launches, audits, and customer visits.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate, environmental, safety, and quality standards.

What Qualifications you will bring:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electronics, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing, or related field.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in electronics manufacturing, preferably within automotive or high-reliability electronics environments.
  • Experience managing production areas within clean room environments.
  • Strong knowledge of electronic manufacturing processes such as:
    • SMT / Surface Mount Technology
    • BE / Backend electronic processes
    • Electronic assembly
    • Selective soldering
    • Inspection processes: AOI, SPI, X-Ray
    • Testing and validation
    • Defect analysis and troubleshooting
  • Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen, problem-solving methodologies, and continuous improvement tools.
  • Knowledge of ESD control, contamination prevention, process control, and clean room protocols.
  • Proven leadership experience managing multidisciplinary manufacturing teams.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a dynamic production environment.
