About the Position:

 

We are looking for a System and Software Quality Engineer to join the Quality Electronics Business team, reporting directly to the Quality Manager.
 

This position is based at our office in Aguascalientes.
 

As the System and Software Quality at Marelli, you will be responsible for ensuring that electronic systems, embedded software, and related development processes comply with customer requirements, internal standards, and applicable automotive/electronics industry regulations.
This role supports quality assurance throughout the product development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and system/software design to validation, release, and post-launch support. The engineer works closely with system engineers, software developers, hardware teams, test engineers, project managers, manufacturing quality, and customer quality teams to prevent defects, ensure process compliance, and drive continuous improvement.

Your Responsibilities will be:

 

  • Ensure compliance with system and software development processes within the electronics division.
  • Monitor quality activities across the software and system development lifecycle.
  • Support adherence to standards such as ASPICE, ISO 26262, IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Participate in reviews of system requirements, software requirements, architecture, design, test plans, and release documentation.
  • Verify traceability between customer requirements, system requirements, software requirements, test cases, defects, and final releases.
  • Support software and system audits, including internal audits, customer audits, and process assessments.
  • Track and follow up on defects, non-conformities, risks, and corrective actions.
  • Facilitate problem-solving activities using methodologies such as 8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa, FMEA, or similar quality tools.
  • Review and monitor project quality indicators, dashboards, and KPIs.
  • Ensure software releases meet defined quality gates and release criteria.
  • Support risk analysis and change management activities for system and software modifications.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to identify quality gaps and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Support customer issue analysis related to software, system, or electronics quality topics.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for software quality, system engineering, validation, and development processes.
  • Promote a preventive quality culture within engineering and project teams.

What Qualifications you will bring:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Science, Automotive Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Experience in software quality assurance, system quality, embedded software development, electronics engineering, or automotive quality.
  • Knowledge of the software development lifecycle and system engineering processes.
  • Understanding of quality management systems and engineering process standards.
  • Ability to analyze technical documentation and identify quality risks.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced English level, both written and spoken.

  • The candidate should bring technical knowledge in embedded software or electronics quality, strong problem-solving skills, effective communication, organization, and intermediate to advanced English.
