About the Position:

 

We are looking for a Technical Project Manajer to join the Electronics Design team, reporting directly to the ENGINEERING CUSTOMER FRONT LEADER.
 

This position is based at our office in Aguascalientes, Mexico.
 

As the Technical Project Manajer at Marelli, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating electronics product development projects from concept through industrialization and launch. This role ensures that project objectives are achieved in terms of scope, quality, cost, timing, risk management, and customer requirements.

The position acts as the main interface between engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, purchasing, suppliers, and customer teams to ensure successful execution of electronic product development activities.

Your Responsibilities will be:

Project Management

  • Lead electronics product development projects from planning to launch.
  • Define project scope, milestones, deliverables, timelines, and resource needs.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure compliance with deadlines, budget, and technical requirements.
  • Identify risks, issues, and dependencies, and drive mitigation plans.
  • Prepare and present project status reports to management and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate cross-functional project meetings and follow up on action items.

Technical Coordination

  • Work closely with hardware, software, firmware, mechanical, validation, and manufacturing engineering teams.
  • Ensure technical requirements are understood, documented, and properly executed.
  • Support design reviews, feasibility analysis, change management, and technical problem-solving.
  • Coordinate prototype builds, testing, validation, and product release activities.
  • Ensure compliance with internal engineering standards and customer specifications.

Product Development

  • Support the development of electronic products, modules, systems, or components.
  • Drive activities related to design validation, process validation, and product qualification.
  • Coordinate engineering changes during development and launch phases.
  • Ensure alignment between product design, manufacturability, quality, and cost targets.
  • Support lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives.

Stakeholder and Customer Management

  • Serve as the main project contact for internal teams and, when required, external customers.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and decisions clearly and professionally.
  • Manage expectations across engineering, operations, business, and customer stakeholders.
  • Escalate critical topics in a timely manner to ensure fast decision-making.

Quality, Cost, and Compliance

  • Ensure projects meet quality, safety, regulatory, and customer standards.
  • Support compliance with APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, PFMEA, control plans, and validation processes when applicable.
  • Monitor project budget, development costs, tooling costs, and cost-reduction opportunities.
  • Ensure proper documentation and project governance..

What Qualifications you will bring:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • Master’s degree in Project Management, Engineering, or Business Administration is desirable.

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in project management, product development, or engineering roles.
  • Experience in electronics manufacturing or electronics product development.
  • Experience working with cross-functional and multicultural teams.
  • Automotive, industrial electronics, consumer electronics, or embedded systems experience is highly desirable.

Certifications

Preferred but not mandatory:

  • PMP certification
  • Scrum Master or Agile certification
  • Lean Six Sigma certification
  • APQP / PPAP training
  • Automotive Core Tools knowledge

  • Strong project planning and execution skills.
  • Ability to understand technical requirements and engineering documentation.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Risk identification and mitigation planning.
  • Budget, resource, and schedule management.
