About the Position:
We are looking for a Production Supervisor to join our Interiors Team. The Production Supervisor will oversee daily operations, organize and direct subordinate groups performing manufacturing functions, and execute positive employee motivational programs while ensuring the maintenance of all company quality and quantity goals. The Production Supervisor will report directly to the Plant Manager and this position is based at our Bowling Green, Ohio location.
Candidates for this position must be legally authorized to work in the United States and will be required to provide proof of employment eligibility at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship for this position is not available at this time.
Your Responsibilities will be:
- Direct activities of team lead(s) and production technicians on shift in daily operation of production departments to include coordinating all efforts to meet Productivity, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety and Morale targets; including enforcement of all company policies and procedures.
- Act as the lead onsite contact person in absence of the Production Senior Manager. Reporting out daily on all plant KPI’s, safety, production, etc.
- Shop floor coverage, including breaking out team members (working on-line), replenishment of parts, assisting team members with issues, providing support to ensure the team is successful in meeting KPI targets.
- Ensure proper management of production facility through sound 5S programs.
- Develop, advise, train, support and counsel subordinate group leaders and technicians.
- Implement tools and programs that streamline and simplify processes to increase flexibility of department management.
- Plan and monitor manpower requirements for manufacturing lines and department labor efficiencies.
- Lead in problem-solving and troubleshooting with each production line and developing recovery and action plans to solve problems and/or issues.
- Assist Management in overall planning such as capacity, new launches, etc.
- Monitor personnel issues, absenteeism, tardiness and accident frequency of all operating departments and ensure that appropriate action is taken when necessary.
- Work with all departments (Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, etc.) to improve processes, meet scrap targets, and address customer concerns.
- Create, develop and maintain documentations used on the manufacturing floor.
- Communicate frequently with internal contacts and external contacts on various issues.
- Comply with the quality and environmental standards procedures and instructions (those applicable)
- Perform other duties as assigned and work overtime as directed by management.
What Qualifications you will bring:
- Ability to follow directions and work well in cross functional team.
- Basic grammar and math skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to work a standard forty-hour week with overtime as required by management.
Other skills that we would welcome:
- A High School diploma (GED)
- An Advanced Degree in related discipline and four (4) plus years’ experience in related field -or- Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline and five (5) plus years’ experience in related field -or- Associates Degree in related discipline and seven (7) plus years’ experience in related field -or- Non-Degreed with seven (7) plus years’ experience in a related field.
- Certification or license may be required in some areas.
- Ability to work with integrated computer programs and/or applications (Word, Excel, Lotus Notes, PowerPoint, and other presentation applications and/or software).
- Strong communication (with all levels of the organization), administrative and organizational skills, and the ability to coordinate multiple projects and programs.
- Ability to maintain the confidentiality of any information s/he encounters.
- Ability to enter and solve conflictual situations.
- High willingness to make/drive decisions.
- Ability to translate business needs into strategic actions.
- Good planning and analytical skills.
- Dynamic and continuously looking for improvements.
- High accountability (externally and internally).
- Good financial understanding.
