About the Position:
We are looking for the Head of Logistic of Motorsport Division who'll report directly to the Motorsport President and who'll manage a team of 12 people (3 direct People Managers and 9 Individual Contributors who report to these People Managers).
This position is based at our office in Corbetta (Italy, Milan area) which is the preferred location, but it could be based also in Bologna (Italy) or in Venaria Reale (Italy, Turin area).
As the Motorsport Head of Logistic-Senior Manager at Marelli, you will be responsible to lead and manage both internal and external logistic flow from supplier to customer providing the best possible service at the most competitive cost acting cross the 3 Italian production sites of Motorsport (Corbetta, Bologna, Venaria Reale). The motorsport industry is a very dynamic environment, where the time-to-market is very fast, number of SKUs is quite huge, production volumes are about a market niche and economical value of single product is very high.
Your Responsibilities will be:
- Design and deploy the Logistic strategy, defining the road map and action plans;
- Manage the external logistic process in order to optimize: Working capital management, Transport solutions, Logistic footprint;
- Coordinate and oversee the internal logistics processes across the three production sites, ensuring effective alignment and collaboration between production and logistics departments;
- Work closely with internal stakeholders (Planning, Sales Management, Production, Finance, Purchasing) as well as customers and suppliers to meet or exceed customer needs;
- Responsible for stock analysis sharing the results with the Top Management, suggesting corrective actions and leading the scrapping activities;
- Interact with the suppliers for logistic and transportation services in strictly alignment with Purchasing department in order to escalate criticalities and evaluate recovery plans if needed;
- Lead the yearly inventory count process (both from physical and procedural point of views) aligning with finance department, interacting with the external auditors, analyzing root causes and defining corrective actions;
- Govern subcontractors yearly inventory count;
- Lead Special Projects which impact on logistic flows being accountable for the results;
- Supervise physical and documental flow about international shipments especially about customs related topics;
- Monitor and propose improvement plans for Logistic KPIs;
- Cooperate with Planning department in order to ensure an effective material management balancing suppliers delivering, customer requirements and stock level KPIs;
- Team leadership and management.
What Qualifications you will bring:
We're looking for a person who is hands on, who can lead and supervise the team but who can also actively contributing to targets achievement. The ideal candidate owns the following qualifications:
- At least 15 years of previous experience in a similar role within an industrial dynamic environment leading a team;
- Strong knowledge of end-to-end logistic processes, both internally in production areas and externally involving third parties;
- Knowledge of custom rules about international shipping;
- Solid background about transportation services;
- Ability to oversee warehouses and both inbound and outbound flows;
- Leadership attitude and hands-on approach;
- Customer focused mindset and ability to handle stress and strict deadlines;
- Fluent Italian and English;
- Availability to travel for business reasons to other sites;
- Very good knowledge of Office package, especially about Excel;
- Confidence wth SAP Logistic ERP system;
- Analytical mindset.
