About the Position:
We are looking for a SDE Project specialist to join the Electronics Supplier Quality team, reporting directly to the Electronics SDE Manager.
This position is based at our office in Corbetta.
As the SDE Project specialist at Marelli, you will be in charge to:
• Ensure achievement of Marelli target linked to development phases and APQP phases including Safe Launch of new projects in Marelli production plants.
• Lead the APQP development by ensuring synergy, effectiveness and speed of intervention for new components introduction
• Coordinate activities related to project as per project milestones
• Manage tasks to reach required Key deliverables (KD) during each gate, and lead activities for fulfillment of SDE/Purchasing objectives within cross-functional teams.
• Ensure complete Process and Product release of new buy components from external suppliers in cooperation with the development team (Project Buyer, Project Manager, R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Logistic…) before the Start of production
• Lead the application of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) methodology, performing Supplier project review, PPAP documentation, process audits, supplier capacity check and Safe Launch activity/results
• Manage Improvement Programs with Suppliers
Your Responsibilities will be:
• Follow closely the development of new buy components, applying the APQP methodology and evaluating possible risks since early development phase.
• Support R&D, Project Buyer and Development Team in Supplier selection of new buy components from external supplier and all sourcing phases
• Ensure supply risk analysis evaluation in the early project phase
• Participate to Technical Analysis and validate supplier solutions in terms of Quality, Technical/ Process, Capability and Timing, in line with the project team
• Ensure lessons learned application through feasibility commitment and Technical Analysis approval
• Ensure the implementation of Commodity state of the art and best in class standards/practice requirements in supplier processes through the application of Commodity Quality Check List (CQCL)
• Ensure all customer-specific requirements (CSR) are accurately transmitted and implemented within supplier processes
• Validate the APQP Review performed by or with the suppliers
• Follow up the planning, execution and completion of all tasks required for Production part Approval Process (PPAP) evaluation and approval (including tool payments when relevant and interim approval management when applicable)
• Support PPAP validation during Change Management process and promote second sourcing
• Take decisions, solve problems autonomously, escalate properly
• Work across a global, matrixed organization, sharing and learning best practices
• Continuous cooperation with Project Buyer, Commodity Purchasing organization, Project team and Suppliers
• Participate to any relevant technical meeting with R&D and Suppliers
• Support the definition of the Request For Quotation Package for new components
• Perform requirements review and organize technical meetings and drawing/specifications reviews with suppliers and Development Team
• Maintain all defined actions on track with Supplier, ensuring their availability on the APQP Data Base
• Apply the APQP Lessons Learned: measure the effectiveness of the APQP process application, by means of reverse APQP process analysis based on the review of product performances, measured 6 months after start of production
• Perform Supplier Project Reviews, Process Audits (VDA6.3, CQCL,), Line reviews and capacity validations to ensure on-time, high-quality component releases.
• Project management – manage tasks to reach required KD (Key deliverables) during each gate, and lead activities for fulfillment of SDE/Purchasing objectives within cross-functional teams.
• Identify critical risks and lead escalations with suppliers to reach successful resolutions.
• Coordinate activities with SDE to respect project milestones
What Qualifications you will bring:
- EDUCATION: min. Bachelor’s degree in Industrial sectors (mechanical preferred), knowledge in the area of Semiconductors/Electronic Components
- LANGUAGES: fluent English (written, spoken)
- EXPERIENCES: Minimum 5 years in industrial sector, 2+ years specifically in Quality; (Automotive and Supplier Quality experience highly preferred)
- TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- Proficiency in IATF 16949, VDA 6.3 (Auditor license preferred), Environmental, Sustainability & safety requirement,
- Quality tools & root cause analysis (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, 8D, 5-Why, Fault Tree analysis, Ishikawa, experience capitalization), safety/critical characteristic requirements,
- Run @ Rate (verification of production capacity)
- Good knowledge of MS office suites, preferable: ERP/SAP, Jira/Confluence, OnePLM
- SOFT SKILLS: Strong negotiation, analysis, and synthesis skills; ability to thrive under pressure
