About the Position:

 

We are looking for a Algorithms Development Engineer to join the System Engineering & Algorithms Development, Propulsion team, reporting directly to the Algorithms Development Cluj Team Manager.
 

This position is based at our office in Cluj-Napoca.
 

As the Algorithms Development Engineer at Marelli, you will be provide a detailed design for the SW units. Produce and test the software units according to the design. 

Your Responsibilities will be:

 

  • Design controls and associated models in compliance with industry standards and guidelines.
  • Thoroughly document the design to ensure clarity and understanding.
  • Create detailed test specifications.
  • Verify the effectiveness of the design through rigorous testing.
  • Provide support to the validation team when questions may arise regarding functionality and calibration settings.
  • Establish baselines and manage code diffusion.
  • Utilize manual coding or automated tools for efficient code development.
  • Conduct static analysis to identify and address potential issues.
  • Define unit tests to ensure the reliability of individual components.
  • Conduct planned code reviews to maintain code quality and adherence to standards.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior engineers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, promoting a positive and collaborative work culture.

What Qualifications you will bring:

 

  • Minimum 2 years in a similar position within automotive industry.
  • Proven experience in Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow/Targetlink, Atlassian versioning, IBM versioning, Polyspace.
  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Automatics, Mechanical Engineering (with proven experience in Control design).
  • Control design and System Theory.
  • Software development process.
  • Software design and programming. 
  • Requirements Management.

Other skills that we would welcome:

 

  • Knowledge of automotive software development standards and processes.
  • Model-based development for automotive control systems.
  • Intermediate proficiency in using modeling tools such as Simulink/Stateflow.
  • Intermediate proficiency in automatic code generation tools (e.g. dSpace/Targetlink).
  • Good programming skills, preferably in languages such as C/C++.
  • Basic knowledge of software requirements management.
  • Hands-on experience with SW-C Verification (MIL/SIL/PIL).
  • Experience with static code analysis and coding rules to ensure code quality.
  • Basic knowledge of communication protocols commonly used in automotive systems, such as CAN and LIN.
  • Good understanding of automatic controls.
  • Familiarity with automotive software architecture principles, particularly AUTOSAR.
  • Experience with version control systems for managing codebase changes (Atlassian, IBM) and collaborating effectively within a development team.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Troubleshooting and optimizing low/medium complexity software components.
  • Presentation skills to convey low/medium complex technical concepts in an understandable manner.
  • Functional know-how on conventional/electric propulsion systems.
  • Skills in guiding junior engineers and enhancing their technical skills.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills, adept at collaborating with team members and stakeholders.
