About the Position:
This position is a controller role at the Kodama Plant in the Propulsion Business, primarily responsible for financial management of Japan operations. You will drive achievement of financial KPIs, accurate reporting, and budget/mid-term planning.
The primary scope of responsibility is financial management for the Kodama Plant and Marelli's business operations in Japan. While the main focus is on Japanese operations, there will be some collaboration with overseas sites, such as Thailand, India, and Italy. The role also includes supporting finance activities for the Propulsion Business at Marelli Yokohama (a separate legal entity from Marelli Corporation, which has no manufacturing function; this business imports products from India and Italy and sells them to Japanese OEMs).
Your Responsibilities will be:
- Lead and execute the plant’s mid-term (MTP) and annual budgeting
- Analyze and report financial data: sales, costs, inventory, headcount, capex, opex, etc.
- Manage engineering costs (external costs and product development expenses)
- Monitor KPIs versus budget, report risks/deviations and support countermeasures
- Support finance activities for the Propulsion Business at Marelli Yokohama (as described above)
- Key contact for internal/external audits
- Drive implementation of HQ policies and processes
- Support the team on monthly closures, budgeting, and planning
What Qualifications you will bring:
- Master’s degree in Accounting, Certified CPA, or an accounting-related background
- Fluent Japanese, business-level English
- 5+ years of financial experience in the automotive industry, with total professional experience of 12–15 years
- Experience with financial reporting/analysis in manufacturing or at makers
- Proven track record in budgeting, KPI setting, and performance analysis
- Experience in team management and talent development
- Experience working in global/multicultural organizations
