About the Position:
We are seeking a Manager of Software System Engineering to join our Product Development team within the Propulsion Business Unit, focusing on Battery Management Systems for electric vehicles. This role reports directly to the leader of Propulsion Japan Product Development.
This position is based at Kodama Plant in Honjo City, Saitama. However, we offer up to 80% remote work flexibility, along with allowances for Shinkansen or highway commuting—subject to commuting time and other conditions—as well as an accommodation allowance for hotels near our plant.
As the Manager of Software System Engineering at Marelli, you will lead a team of dedicated professionals, closely collaborating with both internal teams and external partners to drive the development of Battery Management System products. Your key responsibilities include managing customer requirements, ensuring projects meet timeline and quality standards, and delivering high-quality software solutions to our OEM clients.
In this role, you will oversee a core team of software engineers, work collaboratively with cross-functional teams such as hardware engineers, and coordinate efforts with outsourced partners.

Your Responsibilities will be:

Software Specification Development:
Develop comprehensive embedded software control specifications. -
Project Leadership:
Lead automotive software development projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project goals.
What Qualifications you will bring:
- Job Experience: More than 5 years of experience as a system engineer.
- Management Experience: More than 2 years of management experience, or proven ability to effectively lead a team.
- Language Skills: Business level proficiency in Japanese.
Other skills that we would welcome:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or an equivalent qualification.
- Experience in the automotive industry as well as international project experience.
- Software development experience with AUTOSAR, ISO 26262, and cybersecurity.
- Basic English communication skills.
