About the Position:
We are looking for a New Projects Engineer Quality to join the Quality team, reporting directly to the New Projects Engineer Quality Manager.
This position is based at our office in Juarez, Chihuahua,MX.
As the New Projects Engineer Quality at Marelli, you will be responsible/support/elevate.....
Your Responsibilities will be:
- Lead quality planning activities for new projects, including Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and PPAP submissions.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to define and implement quality requirements at each project stage.
- Facilitate Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA) and Process Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (PFMEA) sessions.
- Support equipment, tooling, and fixture validation to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Coordinate and execute measurement system analysis and capability studies.
- Manage customer quality relations during project phases, including communication during launches and addressing customer-specific requirements.
- Lead initial sample inspections and support the resolution of launch-related quality issues.
- Develop and deliver training on quality standards and procedures for new project introductions.
- Track and report quality metrics related to new launches (e.g., first pass yield, customer complaints, internal defects).
- Assist in supplier quality development for components related to new projects.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to best practice sharing across projects.
What Qualifications you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field.
- Professional experience in automotive engineering or manufacturing, with a focus on quality (typically 2+ years).
- Working knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and other automotive quality tools and standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 requirements is a plus.
