About the Position:
We are looking for a Supplier Development Engineer to join the SDE team, reporting directly to the SDE Manager.
This position is based at our office in Juarez.
As the [Job Title] at Marelli, you will be responsible/support/elevate.....
Your Responsibilities will be:
- Support R&D, Project Buyer and Development Team in Supplier selection of new buy components from external supplier in all sourcing phases
- Continuous cooperation with Project Buyer, Commodity organization, Project team and suppliers
- Act as “One-voice” towards Suppliers across all involved Business Units
- Ensure supply risk analysis evaluation in the early project phase
- Participate to Technical Analysis and validate suppliers solutions in terms of Quality, Technical/
- Drive resolution of supplier-related quality issues from pre-production through post-launch (ramp up phase).
- Process solutions, Capability and Timing in line with the project team
- Ensure APQP Lessons Learned: measure the effectiveness of the APQP process application, by means of reverse APQP process analysis based on the review of product performances, measured 12 months after start of production
- Ensure the implementation of Commodity state of the art and best in class standards/practice requirements in supplier processes through the application of Commodity Quality Check List
- Ensure the transmission and implementation of Specific Customer requirements
- Validate the Project Review performed by or with the suppliers
- Follow up the planning, execution and completion of all tasks required for Production part
- Approval Process (PPAP) evaluation and approval (including tool payments when relevant and the interim approval management when applicable)
- Support Change Management process
- Take decisions, autonomously solve problems, escalate properly
- Work across a global, matrixed organization, sharing and learning best practices
- Participate to any relevant technical meeting with R&D and Suppliers
- Perform requirements review and organize technical meetings and drawing/specifications reviews with suppliers and Development Team
- Support any APQP reporting requested at plant / Business Unit level
- Maintain APQP Data Base
- May support and act as Supplier Quality Engineer managing quality claims and other related topics as needed.
What Qualifications you will bring:
- Bachelor degree or above in Industrial sectors (mechanical, electrical, materials engineering, Physics or equivalent, preferable in the area of his / her business)English fluent, additional language is preferred
- Experience in industrial sector, with 2 years in quality field; professional experience in automotive industry.
- Experience in supplier quality field is appreciated.
- Proficient knowledge of manufacturing processes (Injection Molding and associated processes, Metal Stamping, forming, and welding, or Electronics and assembly).

- Analysis and synthesis skills, ability to propose solutions and take responsibilities, bear up to pressure, deal with suppliers Management
- Perfect knowledge of approach and experience in new component development: supplier selection, Requirement definition, Advance Product Quality Planning, verification of production capacity, Initial Samples Control Reports validation, Production Part Approval Process; experience in Process Audit (qualified Auditor according to VDA 6.3 is preferred.)
- Knowledge and practice of quality tools: Failure Mode and Effect Analysis, Statistical Process Control , Process capabilities, Pareto, problem solving methods (8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa, Fault Tree Analysis, experience capitalization, etc.)
- Familiar with error proofing, gauge & tool design, gage R&R, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerances)
- Knowledge of Quality Norm IATF 16949, Core Tools, VDA 6.3 and Quality, Environmental and safety requirements
- Good knowledge of MS office
- Travel availability (30–50%). Overnight travel might be required.
Expectations from you in this position:
- Ensure complete Process and Product release of Mechanical and BL driven buy components from external suppliers in cooperation with the development team (Project Buyer, Project Manager, R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Logistic…) before the Start of production
- Lead the application of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) methodology performing Supplier project review, process audit and supplier capacity checkSupport and participate the Sourcing Process
