About the Position:
We are looking for a Skilled Trades Technician- Tool Maker, for 3rd Shift, who will join our Maintenance team, reporting directly to the Maintenance Supervisor. this position is in Lewisburg, TN.
In this role, you will ensure the uptime and reliability of production equipment, supporting safe and efficient manufacturing operations across the Marelli plant.
As a Skilled Trades Technician, your Responsibilities will be:
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair injection molds and tooling components.
- Perform mold tear-down, cleaning, inspection, and reassembly for preventive maintenance and repairs.
- Build repair and maintain robot end-of-arm tooling (EOAT) robot chucks.
- Diagnose mold issues such as flash, wear, or damage and perform appropriate repairs.
- Preform mold spotting, fitting, and venting adjustments.
- Perform flash-line welding and spot repairs on molds as required.
- Operate machining equipment including mills, lathes, and grinders to fabricate or repair tooling components.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to manufacture or modify tooling parts.
- Support mold insert changeovers and assist with troubleshooting molds in production presses.
- Work with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to resolve tooling issues and improve mold performance.
- Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to verify component dimensions.
- Document repairs and maintenance activities in the plant work order system (IFS).
- Safely operate cranes and material handling equipment when moving molds and tooling.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while following plant safety and 5S standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Experience with mold maintenance, tooling repair, or machining in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
- Experience using mills, lathes, grinders, and other machine shop equipment.
- Welding experience (MIG, TIG, or Stick) preferred.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to use precision measuring tools including micrometers and calipers.
- Basic computer skills for work order documentation and reporting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with injection molding tooling.
- Experience performing mold flash repairs and welding.
- Familiarity with industrial automation and molding equipment.
