About the Position:

We are seeking an experienced HW Engineer at our Mexico City location. 

Responsibility of Electronics Projects Development on timings, financial status, assigned resources and quality.
Functional Project Leadership (FPL) for Electronics project within the project team.

Your Responsibilities will be:

  • The Chief Project Engineer Electronic is responsible, for one or more projects of the coordination
    of the entire electronic development process within R&D.
  • He/She prepares, updates and monitors the development planning with all its milestones.
  • He/She manages the R&D resources involved in the project highlighting potential bottlenecks.
  • He/She monitors the product cost and optimizes the costs by implementing the best technical
    solutions to respect the Project KPI.
  • He/she enforces and leads the communication with the Customer from the technical point of
    view in order to drive it to the best possible solutions, take the right decisions and provide a
    robust overview from all the technical point of view (Mech, Optical, Electronic, etc.).
  • He/She is the right hand of the CPEM and project leader and provides to them all necessary
    technical information.

What Qualifications you will bring:

  • Timings:
    Within the Standard Project Planning, at project nomination CPEE sets up the Electronic Design
    Planning for approval.
  • Schedule, track and report about the ongoing activities, preventing delays and blocking points.
  • Report to Project Management, hierarchical Management and Customer about development
    progress.
    Financial Status:
  • Keep under control and report about the assigned/residual efforts needed for different phases of
    project development.
  • Keep under control and report about the assigned/residual product costs during the project
    development.
  • Estimate economic contents of RFQ, Engineering Changes and Customer demands for approval.
  • Assigned Resources:
  • Support the assigned Team for an effective team-working and promoting personal proficiency.
  • Facilitate communication and exploit flexibility within the Team.
  • Supported by internal project teams belonging to the each specific technical area, supervise all
    technical aspects of the project.
  • Within the assigned workload of each team member, define and track priorities and daily
    activities.
    Quality:
  • Customer requirements elicitation, check, and collection.
  • Lead the technical analysis and feasibility assessment of pending requirements.
  • Pursue implementation of agreed requirements. DE PUESTO
  • Following the Customer requests, address and assign activities to project team Member.
  • Assess and report project risks.
  • Assign priorities to problems and bottlenecks (HW, SW, LYT, FuSa), define action plan and track
    corrective actions.
  • Review the project content and assess the project status.
    FPL:
  • Compiling of data-packages for the development samples (A, B sample) and communication with
    the prototype sample shop (external/internal)
  • Compiling of an RFQ data-package for EMS (Series suppliers of PCBAs or electronics modules) and
    following data-packages for an industrial / series production stage (D sample)
  • Create the specifications for electronic products (PCBA Order Specification), headlamps & rear
    lamps (Production specification)
  • Facilitate communication and exploit flexibility towards the external contacts (i.e. Plant,
    Customer, Suppliers).
  • Facilitate the active involvement within project team.
  • Report to Project Management about the electronics project status.
  • Receiving and answering customer inquiries regarding electronics
  • Interdisciplinary cooperation with the (internationally distributed) lamp project team
  • Represent Marelli R&D in periodic meetings with electronics suppliers, ensuring clear technical
    communication, alignment on project requirements, and proper follow-up of ongoing activities.
