About the Position:
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Site EHS leader to join the Marelli Ploiesti team, reporting directly to the Plant Manager and functionally to the regional EHS organization. This position is based at Marelli Ploiesti Romania SRL.
This role offers the opportunity to lead key Environmental, Health and Safety processes and make a visible contribution to employee safety, environmental performance, and sustainable plant operations. Marelli Ploiesti is a key manufacturing site within the Green Technologies business, supplying advanced automotive solutions to global customers. The site offers a dynamic production environment where safety, operational excellence, quality and sustainability are critical success factors.
In this role, you will coordinate and continuously improve EHS activities in line with Romanian legislation, corporate standards, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001. You will work closely with managers, employees, authorities and external partners to ensure compliance with Romanian legislation, corporate standards, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, while strengthening a proactive culture of prevention across the plant.
Your Responsibilities will be:
- Coordinate the implementation and continuous improvement of the plant’s EHS management system;
- Ensure compliance with applicable Romanian EHS legislation, environmental permits, corporate standards, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001;
- Lead the internal prevention and protection service and coordinate occupational health and safety activities;
- Coordinate workplace risk assessments, prevention plans, EHS instructions, and employee training;
- Plan and conduct EHS inspections and audits, monitor corrective actions, and report results;
- Coordinate incident investigations, emergency preparedness, and fire and evacuation drills;
- Manage environmental compliance activities, including permits, environmental impacts, and pollution-prevention measures;
- Provide EHS guidance to the Plant Manager, department managers, employees, and contractors;
- Participate in EHS assessments for new equipment, processes, substances, and facility changes;
- Monitor and report EHS performance indicators and promote a proactive safety culture.
What Qualifications you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field;
- Professional qualifications and certifications required for the role under applicable Romanian legislation;

Minimum five years of relevant EHS experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment, including experience in leading site-level EHS activities;
- Strong knowledge of Romanian occupational health and safety and environmental requirements;
- Practical knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001;
- Experience in risk assessment, EHS audits, incident investigation, and corrective action management;
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications;
- Good command of English, both written and spoken.
