About the Position:
We are looking for a Facilities energy specialist to join the Manufacturing GT team, reporting directly to the Engineer manager.
This position is based at our office in San Francisco Plant.
As the Facilities energy specialist at Marelli, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing energy usage within the company's facilities to drive efficiency, sustainability, and cost reduction.
Your Responsibilities will be:
- Energy Monitoring: Track and analyze energy consumption across all facilities, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
- Project Management: Lead and support energy-saving projects such as lighting upgrades, HVAC optimization, process improvements, and renewable energy integration.
- Continuous Improvement: Develop action plans to minimize energy wastage and increase operational efficiency.
- Reporting & Compliance: Prepare regular reports on energy performance and cost savings. Ensure adherence to local, national, and company energy regulations.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work with site managers, engineering, and sustainability teams to drive energy initiatives and share best practices.
- Supplier Coordination: Liaise with utility companies and energy solution providers to negotiate contracts and explore innovative technologies.
- Awareness & Training: Organize and deliver training sessions on energy conservation and best practices for facility personnel.
- Budget Support: Assist with forecasting and budgeting for energy costs and improvement projects.
What Qualifications you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Environmental Science, or related field.
- Knowledge of energy systems (electrical, HVAC, lighting), energy-efficient technologies, and sustainability practices.
- Experience with energy reporting tools and platforms.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Other skills that we would welcome:
- Project management experience and ability to work cross-functionally.
- Certification (e.g., CEM - Certified Energy Manager) is a plus.
- Up-to-date on industry trends and regulatory requirements
Expectations from you in this position:
- The Facilities Energy Specialist is responsible for overseeing energy management programs across Marelli’s sites. This includes monitoring energy usage, implementing projects to reduce energy consumption and costs, and ensuring compliance with sustainability goals and regulations. The role collaborates closely with Facilities, EHS, Maintenance, and Corporate Sustainability teams.
