About the Position:

 

We are looking for a Regional Commodity Specialist Americas - Facility Management and Services  to join the Purchasing+ Marelli GBS team, reporting directly to the Purchasing Head.
 

This position is based at our office in Aguascalientes.
 

As the Regional Commodity Specialist Americas - Facility Management and Services at Marelli, you will be responsible

Reporting directly to the Americas Head of Indirect Purchasing,  the Regional Commodity Specialist strives to create sustainable value by integrating and managing external partners with the aim to generate competitive advantages for a sustainable growth in business and quality

This position aims at managing a reliable supplier panel for the Macro-class of reference (Facility Management and Services) in accordance with Marelli Indirect Commodity policies and procedures.

These tasks are accomplished following up the activity guidelines as follows:

o          Interfacing and aligning with Key Stakeholders (Division Indirect Purchasing Coordinator, Indirect Buyer, Plant Management, Finance, Manufacturing, EHS, Supply Chain & Logistics, Legal, Human Resources and General Services)

o          Optimizing costs, while ensuring quality and timing impacts

 

Your Responsibilities will be:

 

  • Analyze the Facilities Services needs and Purchase Requests and Sourcing forecast demands.
  • Support the Divisional and GBS Buyers in the identified negotiation activity and in the preparation of the necessary documentation
  • Lead the preparation and negotiation of HQ or multi-divisional Contracts and / or Framework Agreements, support the Divisional ones.
  • Interface the Plant Maintenance and Manufacturing Team, Plant HR, Security Manager, EHS Team and the various Services requesters, providing the approved Suppliers contract, rates, and Marelli general Terms and conditions.
  • Approve within his delegation limits the process of Supplier nomination, supporting the Divisional Buyers and Global Business Services (GBS) to release the Purchase Orders.
  • Manage the key RFQ´s in cooperation with the various Plants Team, kicking off the enquiry to suppliers, analyzing quotations and evaluating cost breakdown to obtain best TCO, and perform negotiations with suppliers to meet internal commercial targets.
  • Form and manage in cooperation with the various stakeholders a supplier panel providing, at competitive conditions and controlled risks, the access to new and/or needed technologies and required capacities
  • Define in respect of the commodity strategies supplier bid lists with Divisions/Region for new business opportunities and follow the sourcing process

 

What Qualifications you will bring:

  • EDUCATION (SCHOOL/SPECIALIZATION): Economics or Engineering Degree, International Business
  • LANGUAGES: English fluent, Spanish – professional and Portuguese would be a plus.
  • EXPERIENCES: 3+ years in an International Purchasing (depending on Commodity) or CAPEX/OPEX preferable in automotive sector; Consolidated experience in Purchasing Indirect, or in alternative Tier 1 Purchasing is a must.
  • A US-entering Visa availability (for meetings and suppliers visit) is a must.

Other skills that we would welcome:

  • Good knowledge of MS Office suites, with expert knowledge of Outlook, Powerpoint and Excel. Functional expertise of BPCS, IFS, SAP and/or JAGGAER eProcurement Platform is considered as a plus
  • Ability to work effectively within a global matrixed organization as a trusted member of a multicultural team, across multiple locations and Countries. This position will have constant contact with teams in Brazil, USA and Mexico.
  • Problem-solving and analysis techniques, good communication skills (presentation, written, verbal). Commercial and Technical Negotiation Skills, Mediation skills, relationship building, and conflict management
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, with Travel Availability within the region
