About the Position:

 

As Marelli drives the future of sustainable mobility, our Shelbyville plant is looking to strengthen its capabilities in EHS. This position is responsible for supporting all aspects of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) within the organization. Key responsibilities include tracking and monitoring Worker’s Compensation claims, investigating workplace incidents, ensuring compliance with EHS regulations, and providing administrative assistance to manage health and safety program. The EHS Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting all aspects related to safety. This position will report to the EHS Manager.

Your Responsibilities will be:

  1. Incident Management: Support the response to environmental or safety incidents, supporting investigations to identify root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence
  2. Identify hazards/environmental aspects and assess risks in the company
  3. Cooperate with the Employer and all other departments for the preparation of the Risk Assessment Document
  4. Identify and develop all safety measures suitable for the prevention of diseases and accidents at work, safety procedures included
  5. Education and Training: Support the designing and delivering of comprehensive EHS training and awareness programs, tailored to various levels of the organization, to embed a culture of safety and environmental awareness
  6. Environmental & Energy Management: Manage hazardous waste, air emissions, wastewater, and spill prevention. 
  7. Support OSHA reporting and workers’ compensation claims

What Qualifications you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in EHS related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in EHS, operations, or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working in a plant or manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of facilities and equipment management
  • Familiarity with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulations and best practices
  • Proven track record of tracking and managing Worker’s Compensation claims
  • Incident investigation and reporting skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Proficiency with relevant computer systems and software applications.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills; ability to educate and influence plant staff.

Other skills that we would welcome:

Intermediate to advanced experience working with computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other presentation or related software, beyond basic data entry.
